Has anyone seen any single stack .40's on the market that are Commader size, like a 4 inch barrel? I have looked at the S&W shield but was thinking I wanted the next size bigger. I am trying to avoid the fat handle bulging my suit jacket when carrying concealed.

I second the Kahr T-Series [steel] or TP-Series [polymer]. I've got next smaller series K40 and shoot it better than my Glock 23. The T or TP Series should shoot better yet and carry great.

Ever consider a Springfield EMP 40? Smaller that a true commander 1911 I believe but I don't know of many 1911s off the top of my head are usually made in 40 besides STIs (and I don't remember if they made and 1911s in 40 or just 2011s). You said Commander size, are you wanting a 1911 specifically or just similar size to a Commander 1911?

Similar size, no need to limit to the 1911 design. I already have a few pocket guns, I was looking for something smaller than a full size and easier to carry. The Kahr offerings are interesting.
