"2nd Amendment Patriots" coming to NWI: Who's interested?

Who would be interested in joining a local gun rights group that was based out of Northwest Indiana?

This new chapter would primarily be for residents of Porter & Lake Counties, and other counties whom are willing to travel to us.

There would be monthly meetings and would provide a place to meet up with your fellow local patriots whom strongly support the 2nd Amendment. You'd make some friends, find some shooting buddies, and we'd be organized for any upcoming political battles (that are sure to arise) regarding protecting gun rights.

Mission Statement

The Second Amendment Patriots are a local group of citizens dedicated to preserving the rights, freedoms, and civil liberties of every American by educating the American public of the founding and history of this country and its founding fathers by explaining the role, functions and purpose of the U.S. Government; and by teaching the need and importance of an armed American public, in order to allow for a more prosperous and respectful country consisting of American citizens with a pledge of allegiance to their country and who will at the same time, voice their demand to take back the present overwhelming power of the U.S. Government and deliver it into the hands of the people to which it belongs.


Who We Are

The 2nd Amendment Patriots is a grassroots gun rights activists group that started in January of 1999. It's a very informal organization of local residents and family members who enjoy firearms.

Out of frustration over ever-increasing gun control and continual erosion of fundamental Constitutional guaranteed Liberties and Freedoms, this group of people has become extremely politically active at local, state and federal levels.

The 2nd Amendment Patriots were featured in the NRA Rifleman magazine, (September, 1999 issue p.25) complete with picture, for entering a float in the Evansville, Indiana. Freedom Festival parade that year to bring attention to the sport of guns and gun ownership.

Besides participating in parades this group has also celebrated the Bill Of Rights Day in a big way drawing media attention from TV, Radio and Print. The purpose is to fan the flames of interest in preserving our Constitution and Bill Of Rights.

Especially active politically, over the years this group of ordinary citizens working together united have been influential in changing state gun laws in Indiana, repealing a gun law and introducing pro gun legislation.

Some of our members themselves have run for office both on the local and state level.

Over the years we have had elected officials and candidates for office (governor, senator, representative, sheriff and all offices in between including federal) attend our meetings to establish our position on the Right To Keep and Bear Arms.

The NRA/ILA awarded the 2nd Amendment Patriots with the Grassroots Organization of the Year 2000.

Being featured in different gun publications over the years has allowed others, by virtue of e-mail, around the Country to join us and STAY UNITED and now with this web site our hope it to continue to inspire others to guard against those threats that seek to destroy our Bill Of Rights.

We do not charge membership dues.

i am interested but working more stuff into my schedule which revolves around my kids practices and such might be tough. could i be an invisible member/supporter?

I don't want to step on anyone's toes but we had a meeting Tuesday about a 2nd Amendment Patriots group for NWI based out of South Bend, meeting at the Library on the first Tuesday of every month. Perhaps a name change would help avoid confusion. It would be great to see another group get going. This organization seems to be a good way to get local people involved with gun rights.

I'm interested if I can work it in the family schedule, but in NO WAY am I traveling to Porter County.

jdhaines you are not stepping on anyone's toes and most of us were/are aware of the South Bend "Chapter" of SAP but sadly that is just too far for a lot of us who live right on the board with IL (LAKE County) and thus why rambone started this post to see if there would be interest from the LAKE & PORTER county members to have a NWI (LAKE/PORTER) chapter.

See the comment by bw210. Most LAKE County members just can't travel further EAST as it's too far.

Besides the south bend chapter would NOT want members from LAKE county. We are all a bunch of crooks and think we belong to chicago so we really are trying to "get in" on SAP & bring it down. Since King Daley and ACRON is paying us.
