1911 Won't drop magazine

I have a new to me Republic Forge semi-custom 1911. It will not drop the mag empty or loaded it drops about an inch and hangs up and I have to pull it out the rest of the way till it quits dragging. There are no marks or scratches on the mags like there is a burr or something in the mag well but it sure won't release the mag like it should.

Check the trigger bow. It might be squeezing the mags

Only 1 mag? Is everything clean/in shape? Double checked grip screw bushings?

No its every mag I have and they all work in my Springfield 1911s.

Maybe try painting the mag with a sharpie and see were its rubbing.
Likely dragging on the mag release .

Totally agree. Try holding the mag release and see if it drops out easier.

Sometimes grip screws can cause dragging if too long or maybe swapped thin scales with standard grip screws?
