Here’s the custom one I made, it’s a volkmann custom slide and frame, hand fit, the grips are made from a piece of English walnut, trigger is colt, and most the other parts are Springfield or Wilson combat, cerakote is sniper grey mixed with crushed aluminum, Tiffany blue trigger, and graphite black

I may have gone just a bit to far......:):

Just assembled this one. All the external controls and ignition controls are new. AllenM machine work and color.
Might need to push the trigger weight north just a tad.

@Expat: Dang! That one came in out of the blue! Gorgeous!!! I assume she's a shooter as well... Congrats.

@Churchmouse: Nothing surprises me anymore from you, you have all the best guns! I don't feel safe with anything less than about 2.5 lbs, but if you can handle that, then more power to ya. Just don't sneeze when it is sitting on the table in front of you, it might just go off!

    Grandpa's 1911

Got some pictures of my Grandpa's 1911. It's an absolute beauty.
Made 1917. USGI Issue. Too bad the original grips aren't with it. I'll probably get some for it.

    Wow! Nice...

If I thought I could get something even close to this from the CMP at the prices they're charging, I'd be all over it.
