I just put a new bull barrel on my 10-22. It shoots as well as I can in this cold weather, but I am having a few failure to extract issues. Not bad, only about 1 round out of every 2 or 3 mags. Any ideas? Thanks.

what ammo? i have been having failure to extracts in cold weather w/ any of the wax coated match ammo... uncoated ammo seems to work fine.

or it could be your new barrel has a tighter chamber and needs to be broken in a bit, or use hotter ammo... cci minimags come to mind.

Your rifle could be a candidate for one of the "sharp" extractor's that VQ makes. It isn't real expensive and is easy to install.

It cured the same problem in my match heavy barrel.

I always shoot CCI Stingers and have never had a problem...I even went almost 5000 rds without cleaning the gun...but have never done that again. The 10/22 is one of the most reliable rifles out there.
