Penalty for carrying a gun while possessing drugs?
*EDIT: It is apparently federal crime if you possess a gun and illegal drugs together at the same time. It seems to bring you a 5-year minimum sentence in federal prison. Having a LTCH does not seem to matter, and will be revoked anyways...
I just sent off for my LTCH a handgun yesterday and I know it'll likely be several weeks before I hear anything back.
My dad, who got his LTCH in the mail Saturday, wants me to go to a range down here in Evansville that rents out handguns, which is great cause I want to try out a few...
Ok, this is going to be more of a rant than anything, but if anybody's got any suggestions for me I'd appreciate it.
I moved to Evansville from Iowa this spring, and I finally got around to applying for my LTCH. Imagine my surprise when I get a letter from the EPD informing me that my permit...
Hey everyone, a few people have been asking what it takes to actually purchase the IN state database where they keep track of all the LTCH holders. I e-mailed the state twice and asked them how I could purchase the database and told them I wanted it to see what kind of information was on the...
Has anyone tried to buy a copy?
Just wondering if they will just sell it to a private individual who just wants it or do you have to have a "research" reason?
I just don't want to believe our info is out there that easily
Heck maybe I'll try it and report back.
The St. Louis Gun Rights Examiner takes a look at the permission to carry vs. rights. My $0.02 is that he's right. We are doing it wrong. Folks like to hold up Indiana as some gun rights Mecca when it's really not even close compared to other states. When I lived in KY I could and did carry a...
I went last week and filled out the application to renew my LTCH and just now noticed that I forgot to fill out the question about how long i have lived in Indiana. Any suggestions as to what I should do??
Thanks Matt.
Edit: I called the St. Joe county Sheriffs Records Dept. and they told me...
So here's the deal , my mother was denied her lifetime license by the IMPD for failing to admit her full record .
She's now been denied by the ISP for being deemed "not a proper person" .
The reason she thinks she was denied is because she was arrested ONCE IN HER LIFE back in 1969 ...
Ok I'm sorry for asking a question that I'm sure has been gone over countless times and I should probly know what to do anyway.
Who do I talk to?
I lost my wallet while moving out of my moms, it was short distance and I know every where I had gone. -my moms, my grandmas, my house and my buddys...
I'm still waiting for my LTCH. and i want to shoot my pistol more often. the places i shoot are at land owned friends of the family or my fathers . or down in southern ky, on family land(4.5hrs travel). i feel it is rude to ask these ppl "hey can i shoot on your land i really dont feel like...
I personally wouldn't mind seeing a requirement to take a test to show an individual's knowledge of firearm safety and laws in order to get a LTCH. Also, I think having a person show a basic level of proficiency with a firearm wouldn't be a bad idea for them to get a LTCH.
What do you guys...
I'm sure this has been answered before ( i think i've even asked before) and i did read through the facts (at least as much as my 18 year old mind could stay focused) and i just am still unclear on this... I'm moving from Ohio to Indiana and i want to know how long i need to live in Indiana...
So, with all the discussion about the IndyStar article re: LTCH today, and the inherent question of the constitutionality of LTCH, it got me to thinking:
What is the intended result of requiring folks to get a license to carry?
What is the actual outcome (good and bad)?
These questions might...
They nice ladies in the firearms licensing department have informed me of their policy on denying permits in relation to drug and alcohol charges.
They will allow (misdemeanors or lesser charges, of course);
no more than one alcohol related charge
no more than one drug related charge
two of...
Was reading and came across something, basically if your gun was made before 1899, then no federal laws are applicable to it as it is an antique.
Do I understand this correctly?
It is imperative that you contact you US Senators ASAP. As there is a reciprocity amendment being brought up to the floor by Senators Thume & Vitter. granting Right to Carry in all states that issue permits. This could take place as soon as today so dont delay.

Please take a look at this legislation that is floating around the Senate. It seems that there may be a vote on it as soon as next week, so calls to our Senators (backed up with e-mails) are...
