Most folks do not even know this is not legal.

Remember seeing news video of people at bars with their nights worth of eight drinks in front of them after they bought four drinks buy one get one free…

Not something that needed changing. The funny part is most national chains just offered the drinks that were happy hour specials in other states all day here to comply with the law…

Now is the time to fight. For your right. To paaaaaaarty. Cheaper.
Not very important, but any repeal of prior stifling legislation is encouraged. It's rather silly that selling alcoholic beverages at a reduced price is illegal.
Ok, I’ll play the other side.

How is it cheaper than the current laws? Currently the special is all day, not just a certain hour…

Don't really care just interesting to discuss and I do remember seeing the news coverage when it was passed…

It wasn't the reduced price that was the issue. It was the limited time thing. Like Mike said above, people would go in and order 8 drinks at a time. Some might nurse them all night, but a lot would just down them in the limited time that they were offered, getting hammered really quick and then driving home. I remember them well. A lot of places had deals on appetizers too, like 25 cent peel and eat shrimp or wings.

You've overestimated my level of interest in arguing a side. I'm just trying to get the Beastie Boys stuck in people's heads.

I don't particularly care. I doubt I would go to a happy hour anyway. I live near Bloomington and can imagine how crowded they would be. I just don't like more laws / overreaching government. The sale price should be entirely between the restaurant / bar and the customer. None of the state's business! If the customer gets plastered and drives drunk, that is a crime and should be prosecuted. But don't ban something just because there's a chance someone will misuse it...

There will always be laws (rules for how society will operate) needed to some degree. Humans are incapable of operating without such laws. Proponents say selling alcohol based on time encourages excess consumption of those already impaired…
