Long time lurker here, recently saw something I wanted to buy, then realized I cant message anymore. Found out you need the 50 quality posts, but its hard to find topics that I'm knowledgeable in.
Question- I see people with 1000's of posts, claiming they still cant comment in classifieds... is this just sarcasm?

Yes, it's a running joke here. The key is 50 "quality" posts. And if you're not knowledgeable about something, ask questions. Questions count as quality posts (or at least they can). The key is participation, and besides, you are likely to learn some stuff along the way.

Were you a site supporter at one time?

100's of posts and can't comment in classifieds... only the OP (original poster) can post in a classifieds ad unless the inbox is full (something like, I want to buy it, delete some PMs!!) Also known as Classifieds Rule #7. The classies would be unmanageable without rule #7, I argued for the "inbox is full" exemption.

Sarcasm comes by the bushel around here, often in purple, sometimes not.

Well, things are different now. Access to classifieds and PM (start conversation) require 50 quality posts or supporter status.

Can't remember when we converted to this version of INGO, it was in my pre-mod days IIRC.
