Bought the 4 ton floor jack from Harbor Freight maybe 7 years ago. Been happy with it. My 35 yo floor jack not sure if it’s 2 or 3 ton, was really having trouble lifting my now gone 2016 F350. I change oil and rotate tires every 10k miles.

Growing up jedi saw grandpa and uncles use this method. They would keep the vehicle raised with a floor jack and had tree stumps under the vehicle in case the jack gave out.

One day one of uncles buddy was at jedi grandpa place doing this for a vehicle, a station wagon. The jack failed and the station wagon came down on the stumps. One held, the other side spilt amd the vehicle was lopsided with the guy under it.

    Broken leg was the result.
That incident has stated in jedi mind and thus why jedi avoids being under a vehicle.

Ouch. Supporting it with the stumps is better than what they did. That sudden crush of the fall is much more likely to cause a failure.

    Looks like a neat idea.
Don't have an air compressor and no desire to get one at this point. Not in the budget and feel more comfortable using a floor hydraulic jack to lift the van to put on jack stands.

Ideal would like something like this...

Last set of 4 tires jedi got tire barn did not have in stock. 4 to 6 week delay. Got them from pep boys for about the same price n then went to a small tire shop, 1 guy shop, to have them installed, aligned, balanced.

    That was so much better

Interesting. I've been shopping at DT for about 15 years now. Haven't purchased a tire or wheel anywhere else. These days I go to the Portage store. I'll be there Friday now in fact. :spend:
