Any bets on how long he will live in custody? He looks to be the next Epstein, and probably knows it already. Maybe he'll go to Cuba like Vesco years ago until his money runs out.

I doubt it. His family are well connected

“Bankman-Fried is following in the footsteps of his mother, Stanford professor and Democratic activist Barbara Fried, who is the founder and president of the Silicon Valley-based leftist super PAC Mind the Gap. Mind the Gap was founded in 2018 to help progressive candidates win elections and funnel private donations to the Democratic Party.”

ROFL....FTX lawyers to Democrats...about that 40 million from Sam Bankman-Fried alone and another 30 million from FTX we donated to your campaign funds. You are legally required to pay it back as the funds were stolen and given to you(Republicans owe back less than 2 million, almost all of which went to keep those in oversight of crypto in their seats). The largest donation of course....the over 10 million to Joe Biden alone.

Yet even given the stark disparity in amounts, leftists will cry that BOTH sides took money, (as if it were split evenly) even though its obvious that the only R's that were given funds were key to his success in committees. But they'll paint it like every last critter in congress took the money so its a bipartisan problem.

And probably just gloss over the 10% to the big guy, like it never happened.

This is getting comical. See those millions he sent to Democrats have to be paid back,by those democrats or they can also be charged. Largest of them all is of course Joe Biden himself at a cool 10 million. The debts of course owed to debtors of FTX and Chase bank(among others) wants their money.

Sam Bankman-Fried received about $2.2 billion in payments and loans from FTX entities, mainly from Alameda Research, FTX and its affiliated debtors said yesterday. Bankman-Fried's fellow executives received another $951 million combined, including $839 million to three executives who already pleaded guilty to fraud, FTX and its debtors said in a press release describing a series of filings made in US Bankruptcy Court in Delaware.

As summarized by the Financial Times, "Bankman-Fried and five members of his inner circle transferred $3.2 billion in total to their personal accounts in the form of 'payments and loans,' the funds primarily coming from Alameda Research, a crypto trading hedge fund affiliated with FTX." John Ray, the new CEO leading FTX through bankruptcy proceedings, "has been seeking to identify the location of cryptocurrency and other assets that can be eventually returned to the millions of FTX customers whose accounts have been frozen since its collapse," the Financial Times noted.

Bankman-Fried, 31, is fighting to stay out of jail ahead of his Oct. 2 trial on fraud charges, after prosecutors in Manhattan accused him of tampering with witnesses by sharing personal writings of his former romantic partner Caroline Ellison with a New York Times reporter.

He got a modest victory on Wednesday night when prosecutors decided to drop a campaign finance charge claiming the former billionaire illegally directed associates to donate millions of dollars to political campaigns.

That decision came after the Bahamas, where FTX was based and Bankman-Fried was arrested in December, told the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan it had not intended to extradite Bankman-Fried on that charge.

Bankman-Fried still faces seven counts of defrauding or conspiring to defraud customers, investors and lenders in what prosecutors called one of the "biggest financial frauds in American history."

Republican's should be all over this. Are the Bahamas part of the democratic party...it looks like it.

Maybe Bankman-Fried and Madoff can have a cage match to determine who's the biggest, baddest financial scammer. BF has the age advantage, but Madoff's probably already buff from his prison workouts.

Don’t forget the bullqueers if madoff has been fending those guys off all these years he is either tough as nails or can no longer hold enough pressure back to fart. Either way BF would have a ****** time.
