I haven't been to a gun show in ages. Used to enjoy the thrill of the hunt for a specific model of SWs.Went to the 1500 yesterday. Didn't even feel a tickle with anything I saw
Saw a lot of gang banger looking mofos though in groups. Straw purchase city I bet.
Biggest reason I went there was to buy some jersey from the Michigan Boys. They weren't even there. Disappointed.
Yep 15 bucks now at the door. 10 for parking.I don’t waste my time at Gun shows anymore. Shouldn’t have to pay for parking or ridiculous entrance fee.
This will probably be the last one I ever attend unless they move it from the state fairgrounds. That area has become overrun anyways
I made that determination many years ago. Haven't been downtown for anything in over 20 yrs. Gonna start avoiding Greenwood pretty soon. This will probably be the last one I ever attend unless they move it from the state fairgrounds. That area has become overrun anyways
I’ve been to that one years ago. Thought Valparaiso one was much better. The only gun show I enjoy around here is the Allen County Fairgrounds one they do a couple times a year. But I haven’t been in years. On my calendar in my phone this year though…
My nephew was all green all the time until last year. Got fed up with the green service restrictions, delays and cost. Got a deal where he ended up with 3 new red machines for the cost of one green one and is now moving to a more colorful fleet. Had an issue with a red combine and they got him back up and running in 2 days. They all are now. We just got the combine repair bill (CaseIH) so its ready to go for next year and it was 25K. I didn't think there was all that much wrong with it.
There's a lot less brand loyalty than in generations past. IMO the old loyalty came from one brand or another coming on the farm early on and radically changing things for the better. The changes aren't so radical now, and a lot of it still comes down to service, or financing and marketing. It's not uncommon to see large farmers switch out almost the whole color of their fleet due to a salesman making a deal they can't pass up, and the salesman want the exposure on that high profile farm.
We are yellow (2 shades if you count Deere construction), green, red (again two shades) and blue. No loyalty also has its benefits.
I occasionally go to the Tipton gun show, $5 admission and free parking. Not a bad show, but no bargains either. Not a terrible way to kill an hour or 2 and I usually run into someone I know. This will probably be the last one I ever attend unless they move it from the state fairgrounds. Have thought about going to the one at Stout filed sometime but have never made it over there. And maybe the Lebanon one too.
I’ve been the Lebanon one a few times. I think parking was free and $5 at the door. I usually go mostly for curiosity and also usually run into locals I know. Last time I found a deal on some 1911 mags and some mil surp brass. And some tempting prices on a few firearms I wasn’t in the market for.I occasionally go to the Tipton gun show, $5 admission and free parking. Not a bad show, but no bargains either.
