How long does it take to turn on the laser in comparison to how much the red dot slows you down? They both should be very short periods of time.
The light turns on with a simple touch that can be done on the way up. It is on by the time the pistol is in the firing position. Sights line up almost instantly. If a red dot takes even .25 seconds to acquire the red that, that is too long. Red dots are fun for the range though. They are great if your sights can co-witness.

I should have read this more closely and I could have just said "+1".

Except for pulling the dots off because they slow me down. I've got Holosuns with the ACSS retcle on every gun that can mount one and that reticle is as fast as irons with the additional benefits of the dot. The only exceptions are my two Shields that have 6MOA dots because Primary Arms hasn't put the ACSS reticle in the 507K yet,......507C and 509 only so far. You don't have to search for the dot with the ACSS.
I think red dots close to the eye are great, like on rifles. I now think they are for tourists on pistols.

Any report on the valpo show? CP sucked (so it was the usual) couple of empty tables and some different vendors. Lots of overpriced ammo.

Crown Point show had nothing special 10/22s priced at $400 and was very crowded. I did stop by the Brian's Surplus 22 table extravaganza and me Brian.

Went to Range USA afterwards and picked up a Mark IV 10/22 with 6 mags from their used case.

I'll see some of you later.

Nothing special there either. 9mm going for $20+ per box. 1 vendor had a case of 556 marked $900...lol. Seems like if your looking for new then hit the actual gun dealers but of looking for private sales everything is $200 more than retail.

I did see small pistol primers for $75. Brand I've never heard of but vendor did have around 30k of them for sale

I was thinking of adding red dots to some pistols. I only have one red dot on an AR pistol. Maybe I better just try it on a traditional pistol and see if it slows me down.
I was actually thinking it would be faster than open sights, especially in lower light situations. If you bring the pistol up pretty much aligned right away with what you are targeting you should see the dot, no?

I think that is how it supposed to work, but it does not work for me, never really has. Maybe 50/50 that I don't have to go searching for the dot. I don't have that issue with iron sights or sights that cowitness with the red dot. But 50/50 is not good enough for me. So for me it is cowitness suppressor height sights with a red dot or nothing.
Also red dots do not make for precision shooting, they are supposed to be for faster targeting to put holes on target. There could also be something wrong with me, since everyone seems to love red dots. But I don't know to many people faster than I am at putting holes where it counts that use red dots. Seems they are always about half a second behind my shot, maybe a full second. I assume if you have to draw down and fire, that half a second or full second is an eternity.
Try it for yourself though, red dots are getting cheaper and you can always get a mount and put it on your rifle if it doesn't work for you.

Looking forward to the M&E today. My truck will be making its last run before I sell it. It was bad timing to get it, because Mom is having a much harder time getting into it now than when I bought it. I don't go anywhere without her, so there is no point in keeping it. It's also pretty silly for us to have two vehicles. Not sure if anyone is interested, but here is some info: 2015 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab (4 door, full back seat), 45,300 miles, automatic, 2WD, 5 ft bed, blue, soft tri-told tonneau cover. I have had zero mechanical issues with it in the 15 months I have owned it. Interior and exterior are in very good shape. Dragon graphics should remove fine if you choose. Price is $19,400 firm because that is what Carvana has offered me. It would not make sense for me to take less. If anyone is interested, PM me or talk to me at Schoops today. Otherwise, it's going to Carvana on the 27th.

Friend of mine won't touch primers unless it's a major company. Too many issues with size and such with off brands.
Yeah. I'm very partial to cci or federal. Thought about buying a brick, but decided against. No reception in there to do a quick look up on the brand
