Yea. The last shot when he held the perps gun is going to get him a murder charge. It's Texas so it'll probably get pled to manslaughter, but either way it's going to be time.
So if shots 1, 2, 3… killed the POS robber then since he was already dead how could the last shot into a dead body be murder.

I heard a radio broadcast this afternoon and they were saying that the local district attorney has already said publicly that they don't think there is a reason to charge/prosecute.
He didn't have criminal intent. It would depend on the prosecutor. He did take an execution shot. If charged, that's what he did.

Nope, DEADLY force justified. He's dead, justifiably.

Frankly, I wouldn't care if he reloaded and emptied another mag into him.

I would not do that, but will not judge someone who did in that situation.
I'm glad you wouldn't execute someone because they had just did something bad.

Consider this an in thread warning. Do not overstep the bounds, and a couple comments are definitely on the line. I'm trying to be nice here, so please keep it civil.

People are entitled to their opinions based on what's known. No need to get personal.

Man, looking at the guy's companion sitting at the same table as him...plus the other guy up in the corner...and the music in the background...this rolls like a Quentin Tarantino scene. All that's missing is Uma Thurman.

These people took this in so calmly, I wouldn't have been surprised if somebody looked up at the TV and shouted, "GOOOoooaaallll!"

I think he may have more of a problem with the fact that he left the scene before authorities arrived.
The extra shots MIGHT be able to be explained away.
Leaving the scene and not contacting authorities will be more of an issue and harder to dismiss.

I'm not so sure that I agree with that. If you think you've done nothing wrong in defending yourself or others, are you in the wrong for not contacting police?

There were multiple witnesses, and a video record of this incident, so it's not like a body just mysteriously appeared on the floor.

Maybe he just didn't want to be grilled for hours by the police, and have his firearm confiscated by the police for years.

Good question. Will new laws be created to say you can carry a gun but it is against the law to use without contacting the police first or immediately after?

To me, it looked like an old cowboy movie. Guy shoots another in a saloon and just walks out calmly and finishes his business like nothing happened.

The only reason anything bad happened was because of the robbers decision. So the burden should be placed on that person.
