Well stated, T J Kackowski!!!! You got my vote for historian.....don't get me wrong, there are several CZers in here that could lay out a lesson plan (ie Leadeye, llh1956, mcapo, patience0830.....this list could go on and on) but you did a pretty good job!!!First off, welcome to INGO. You stumbled into a very eclectic group in what seems to be a never-ending CZickness series ... tread lightly or you may fall victim to the CZickness, and it WILL be detrimental to your pocketbook.
Now, a more direct answer to your questions about BA & the Wizard.
BA = Birds Away. He was one of the founding members of this group and spent countless hours with the Wizard ( @llh1956 ) toiling away on their CZ pistols trying to make them more perfect than when they shipped from the factory. A feat that they accomplished and then perfected. They were soon joined by many of those currently contributing to these threads and some who have slipped away for one reason or another. The antics at their biannual gatherings (SGE & FGE) are legend.
As it currently stands, BA has passed away. However, many of the pistols that he owned and/or worked on are in the possession of this motley crew.
The Wizard is still alive and kicking and if you get the chance to have him work on your CZ, you will not be disappointed.
He turned my nice enough PCR with a heavy trigger into a finely tuned EDC pistol. The process was super easy. We had a conversation about what I wanted my pistol to do, he provided me with a shopping list of parts available from Cajun Gun Works. I purchased the parts, then dropped them off with the Wizard and he performed his magic. He does require a tribute to perform his magic, but it is paltry compared to the results. Heck, you even get the OEM parts back if you should ever want to reverse the process.
You will need at least 50 (quality?) posts to start a conversation with the Wizard, or you can become a Site Supporter and contact him right away. If I were in your shoes, I'd pony up the $20 to become a Site Supporter and start the CZ transformation process with the Wizard.
Ruger, you always have such a way of brightening my day!!! (with a whole bunch of 0s behind)All I heard was freedoms, liberties, constitutionals, and lots of awesomes.
Love those 45 ACP dings!!!! (nice shot group too, T-DOGG)!!!!!2.5 hours of enjoyment today at the range. Shot the P322, P320 WC Carry, P320 TXG Carry and the SA 1911 Garrison 45. Range report on the Sigs in "that other thread".
Finished the day by placing 7 rounds of 45 on steel from about 10 yards with the Garrison. Before I shot that gun, I dropped down to one knee and paid a little respect to CM as I knew he was watching from above.
I really needed this time today and I'm thankful for all the blessings the Lord has given me throughout my life, more now than ever. That includes all of you fine folks.
For you CM....

and I have to add a whole lot of withMorning folks!
While any Wizard touched CZs are special, there are a handful of BA/Wizard CZs that have become legend. BA had a flair for commissioning some very interesting pistols that all had a very consistent recipe. Hogue grips were the hallmark. For some reason, BA loved those things.
