Still haven’t seen any colleges step up and have the administrators or professors give back their salaries to apply to the student’s loans.
When people talk "loan forgiveness", I tell them to get it from the college/university.
They want to push it, then put their money on the line.

Why should I spend the REST OF MY LIFE paying for college?
When I paid for my college.

In some cases it depends. My nephew works in something completely unrelated to his degree, but the company he works for requires a degree to work in management. It doesn't matter what the degree is in, they just have to have a degree.
The corporation does not want anyone with common sense getting into management, a degree at least assures the indoctrination portion was completed…

Better just buckle down, live below your means and pay the bastards off. **** the gubmint touches usually turns to more **** and almost always costs extra.
That's been the status quo for the last 700 years. I'm not counting on the gov coming to my rescue.

Well, it looks like the dicktater in chief is going to force taxpayers to pick up the tab for deadbeats....

Our youngest worked and repaid her loans ahead of schedule and despite "deferments" within 2 years of graduating as she did not want to be saddled with debt.

Now the deadbeats are rewarded at the expense of the responsible.

Hey obiden, I have a message to you from my youngest..... GO **** YOURSELF STRAIGHT TO HELL, YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF ****.

Why do I think that the credit card companies would love it if there was student loan "forgiveness".

But $10,000? Talk about pandering. That's much less than my students loans were 25 years ago after law school. I can't imagine that this will "help" people too much in this day and age.

Its not HR, corporate makes those decisions.
Do you get how corporate hierarchy works? HR tells corporate management what it believes best practices are, corporate management follows this or is responsible for their decisions counter to the work of HR they hired to advise them. It is not well received by the board of directors if management does not follow the counsel of HR and there is trouble…

Well, I worked for a large multi-national company for a few decades my friend.
After that ride, I owned two S corporations.
One of my fathers was a VP for a huge label company for 40+- years and the woman that lives with me does contract negotiations she has her juris doctorate, and HR for GM.
I tend to believe that I have a pretty good understanding of how things are put in place.

This may be true in some organizations, but it is hardly ubiquitous across all corporations.

Kinda like giving us $200 tax relief checks? Doesnt really help.

And if the bill doesnt explicitly make the forgiven loan tax exempt, They'll have to deal with the tax bomb. That'll be fun. Maybe all those tax bombs are the real reason for the new IRS agents? They knew this was coming so they started hiring folks to enforce all these new delinquents that cant pay their new tax bills thanks to Biden? :tinfoil:

Why do we need all these new agents? Now you know.

Oh, and now you're going to have tons of people that still have more than 2/3 of their liability to still pay, so their monthly payments wont change. But now they're gonna have a new tax bill due on top of it, putting them in a worse spot than they were before. and the only difference is they'll be done paying for the student loan maybe 5 years sooner. (which wont help today's crippling new liability)

I have a 6 figure job, a side business, a house,a couple cars a sailboat, no credit cards.

The only debt I have is mortgage and student loans.

I went to a ******** "college" that is now closed down. Been paying my student loans since 05.

If that gov just happens to swoop in and cancel them. Am I all of a sudden a deadbeat, despite my hard work and various levels of success?

Now imagine 1000s of people out there just trying to scratch out a living. Paying their bills, taking care of their families, paying student loans. The gov cancels the debt. Maybe they voted for Brandon maybe the votes for trump. Are these hard working folks now deadbeats?

Are there people out there stuck with student loans bc of bad decisions and they are doing all they can to get out of it. Sure.

All I'm saying is maybe check your attitude towards the folks that will benefit from this.
