So why seal the probable cause? What possible reason is there for that? Wouldn't transparency help sell their bull**** narrative? Unless, of course, the probable cause is transparently bull****

    I agree.

Maybe there is some valid reason to seal the probable cause, but the optics suck.

Biden needs to be careful here, it this type of thing that can really lose elections for the democrats. Even If it turns out to be completely legitimate I don’t think it stops Trump from running again, and it doesn’t look like it generates many new votes for Biden24, at least to me. Plus, If this turns out to be a purely political stunt voters like me are going to stay home like we did in 2016. Biden was never my guy, but I pulled the lever to dump Trump. I couldn’t bring myself to pull the lever in 2016, I just hated the Clinton‘s dynasty-in-the-making crap too much.

Its amazing what four years can do for a person’s electability, though.

I would have voted for Hillary Clinton’s corpse in 2020.

No, Trump does not have a multi-billion foundation, it was forced to close in 2018 for repeatedly engaging in fraudulent activities.

I never said he was more deserving. Investigate everyone in public service all the time...prosecute the criminals where they are found. No one should get a pass at that level.
    No one.
Especially if the fbi found a server in his bathroom.

Does this include the Biden crime family?

    Here's the problem with that.

Status quo people never, ever, get prosecuted for anything. People who challenge the status quo get the book thrown at them.

If you aren't going to prosecute one, then you can't prosecute the other. It doesn't matter if Trump piled up a million felonies, until everyone else before him are prosecuted for their countless crimes, it's unjust to pursue Trump.

A system has been created where it is impossible for the voters to challenge the status quo, which is the end of meaningful elections. Until that's rectified both literally and in perception, our votes effectively mean nothing.

You mean like an unauthorized private server that was used for official business some of which contained classified information that was determined by the FBI? That kind of server?

Like I said before this whole thing boils down to a document dispute based on if the documents in question that Trump had in his possession at Mar-a-Lago were declassified by him or not before he left office.

We know that Trump did in fact do a wholesale declassification of documents related to the Russia gate scandal and also the Hillary email scandal up until the day before he left office. This was acknowledged in an article in the Washington Post which is hardly a Trump friendly publication.

Trump did, in fact, order the wholesale declassification of a number of documents related to those investigations, including on the day before he left office.

Now what remains to be seen is exactly what kind of documents were in Trump's possession that the DOJ and the FBI claim were not declassified.

The Trump camp disputes what they claim, and they state that Trump had declassified everything he took to Mar-a-Lago which I don't see any reason to believe for him not to have done so.

No one would ever do that. If anyone did that, surely the fbi would raid them and prosecute them.

Because the law treats everyone equally.

    Pfffttt, whatever.
Make a valid argument and prepare to defend it, address the issues when your charged with hypocrisy or bad reasoning or whatever.
Don’t get me wrong, many on here are pointed the same direction but there’s still nuance. So no one should think they can come in here and say “Trump bad, Hillary good” and not get pushback. That’s way over the line of hypocrisy.

The whole point of a warrant is to bring evidence before the courts.

A warrant was served. Material was collected. If that material was substantive, it will be entered into evidence and used in criminal prosecution against a defendant who will have full opportunity to dispute or refute it In court.

Its a big risk for a purely political play, one that falls apart as soon as it sees the light of day if it fails.

You don’t need the snark. I’m not interested in trading barbs with you. I’m here to try to bridge some gaps in my own understanding, not to pick fights.
One possible gap in your understanding might be the belief that the FBI is impartial and is only interested in justice. This is only about a dispute over documents that Trump claims he declassified and the other side claims he didn't. What former president would ever have been raided over that? It's unprecedented. It's more likely this raid was for some other purpose than the one they claim. We can speculate all day long about what purpose that is. But whatever is the purpose we don't have to speculate that it is partisan. It's looking more and more that the Biden administration is weaponizing its federal law enforcement agencies.

    .
That's probably not far enough. The FBI should be dismembered top to bottom and replaced. And while they're at it, do the IRS next.

    This.^

The dc curia has become it's own independent political machine, directing public policy to enrich and empower it's members and clients. What we have now is a large version of a big city political machine with it's own agenda and crooked law enforcement to back it up. It's going to be a tough job stopping it.

    dc delenda est!
