I'm a touch typist. Meaning, I'm not even looking at my keyboard while I type this. If I have to "type" with my thumbs, I'm screwed. I have normal sized thumbs (maybe even smaller than average). The letters on my phone "keyboard" are about 1mm squares. How the hell do you deal with that?

Because it's only 45 bucks a month, and once a month I might want to browse INGO if I'm at a doctor appointment.
I pay $15 bucks a month for unlimited calls and text with 4 gigs of data.

That extra $30 a month could be buying you a case of ammo every year.

    Just saying.

Maybe if my phone were more convenient to use, I would use it more, but until that happens, I'll use it as a phone and I'll use my car radio/CD player to listen to music.

In recent years, Emmis has sold many of its media assets and redeployed capital into new ventures which emphasize its sales and marketing experience......
    Allow me to translate:
"Emmis has come to see radio as the dying industry it is. We're selling our stations before streaming makes them totally worthless and spending the money on other stuff we think will make a buck in the future. We may set a little aside for a butt-kick'n party to mock the fools that just bought the modern equivalent of a buggy whip factory"

Really? What service? I might be interested.

Mint Mobile. It uses the T-Mobile network.

Streaming is great until weather or other natural disasters happen to take out electrical and internet infrastructure.

Radio is still one of the best last line of comms.

Plus I just came back from a trip to the Tail of the Dragon and there’s alot of uncovered areas in the mountains where my cell had no coverage (And Google maps had no traffic info because no one has any service there).

All that music stored on my phone and we kept on listening for the drive along with some previously downloaded podcasts of Katz and Gun Guy.

How does Mint Mobile's/T-Mobile's coverage compare to Verizon?

I'm not sure, but they have better 5G coverage if that matters. I've rarely had an issue with coverage.
I think my phone is only 4G, so that's not an issue. Coverage is my main concern. Verizon was better down at Lake Monroe than when I had AT&T (which I think T-Mobile uses?).

I’m going to go against the grain here but some people enjoy listening to a radio broadcast, I mean I could do with about 80% less commercials, but I’m by myself all day, driving around all over and it’s nice to actually have something you can think about while you’re driving, versus staring off into space, daydreaming that you’re in a race car or that you have missles and those big guts on your windshield is your reddot…
    Yep. I agree. Satellite radio.

I’ve driven all ove the eastern half of the United States, and never lost streaming service. Even going up and down the mountain between Nashville and chattanooga, where satellite radio always gets lost, never lost streaming service.

As I said, I’ve gone from southern Indiana to Florida numerous times with Amazon music streaming the entire time, no predatory car salesman commercials, no loss of signal, and never hearing the same song twice.

Sure, radio may be useful in an emergency, but until one happens while I’m on the road, I’ll be streaming.
