When you are sure something is wrong regardless of the 4473 passing muster. Thats when you step back. You/I/them are in no way "Obligated" to complete a sale for any good reasons. Up to and including the hat. Stupid as that sounds (and it is) its your goods to sell, or not.

Watched a guy make a sale in an LGS that was obviously a straw buy. If you were there you would have seen it as well. But the store wanted the sale.

If a 4473 comes back APPROVED but the store refuses the sale, is that information passed back to the FBI?

They already have it. Your just answering yes or no to the questions. If they run you it’s on the big machine I would guess.
Or do you mean if the sale is refused.
Not sure on that. I would think they would.

Can't speak for other ffls, but a few years ago when i still worked at one, if a sale was cancelled (whether because a denial on the 4473 background check came back, or because our spidey-sense was tingling) there was a box on the 4473 where we'd notate the sale was cancelled and the reason. Then it would be filed away for 25 year storage.

If i recall correctly, sometimes the aft would call to confirm a gun wasn't transfered on a denial. But cancelled sales that were 4473 approved weren't reported to the atf or fib, unless they called about that specific background check (which they never did far as i rememeber).

First guy to meet the shooter was a funeral home employee. Ramos tried to shoot him and he ran tripping. Called his wife and told her to bring his gun.

If only he had been carrying……

Once his wife got there he was armed but cops were on scene

“I told him that he’s already inside the school,” Briseno said. He said the officer told him to stay back and shut up.

Every officer who ordered people to stand down or refused to disobey those unlawful orders needs to be charged as an accessory to murder

    From the Texas penal code

    d) A person acts with criminal negligence, or is criminally negligent, with respect to circumstances surrounding his conduct or the result of his conduct when he ought to be aware of a substantial and unjustifiable risk that the circumstances exist or the result will occur. The risk must be of such a nature and degree that the failure to perceive it constitutes a gross deviation from the standard of care that an ordinary person would exercise under all the circumstances as viewed from the actor's standpoint.

Since the ordinary person was attempting to rush in while officers stood by I see no reason why the conduct of those on scene doesn’t meet the definition of criminally negligent homicide according to Texas penal code.

I commend this woman for her willingness to protect her children, her bravery, and her sense of what is important.

If I am following this correctly, she was in the school and getting her children out (as well as telling others to get out) while the murderous thug was still active....and state was standing by idle.

Looks like another failure. Reports are saying the on-scene commander was not informed of the 911 calls from students that were in the classroom pleading for help during the 40+ minute stand down that he ordered.

He's just doing CYA. I don't believe for a second that not only did he not hear any of the radio traffic, but none of the officers there mentioned it to him.
