Neighbor is switching to propane for his heat.
He said it's cheaper than natural gas now.
I turned my furnace off today, hopefully until fall. It's hard for me to gauge my actual gas cost, because Citizens Energy also took over water/sewer. I'm on a well, but last year I was forced to get rid of my septic tank and hook up to sanitary sewer. The cost of doing that is now included in my bill, along with the "usage" charge.

I just checked and propane is about half the price of gasoline right now. I wonder what mileage a car on propane gets per gallon of propane?

Maybe for large volumes (like for home heating), but I just filled a 4 gallon tank and it was just under 4 bucks a gallon for propane. But since I have a punch card from ACE hardware, my next tank is free.

This probably doesn’t bode well for us diesel truck owners and anyone else that gets goods delivered via diesels…

Are you saying shipping diesel to the EU to replace the millions of barrels a day from Russia will mean we have a shortage?

Granted we are still shipping more diesel to south America than we are the EU,but not for lack of trying on our east coast.
*edit added a link to back up my statements.

Also this bit of information. In short India is buying Russian crude(at a discount),running their refineries as hard as possible, and selling the "clean"(non sanctioned) fuel(mostly diesel and jet) to the EU. Problem solved right lol?

I don't drive a diesel truck but I do have a tractor that uses diesel. Last year I thought a bit about maybe getting a 100 gallon or so tank to store diesel. It's a pain to have to fill up a bunch of jerry cans when I run out. I decided not to. Now I wish I would have. I haven't had a hard time finding off-road diesel. But the price really sucks. If I can't get it then a lot of projects I have planned this summer just won't happen.

    .
The government has taken a negative view towards diesel for some time which surprises me as it's certainly a more efficient fuel.

"On Monday, diesel prices rose further to $5.321 per gallon, according to AAA."

Only one or two stations on my regular route are less than 5.30 now. Some are as high as 5.49.

I'd have to wonder if having one of those tanks wouldn't be a thief magnet now...especially if it were setting somewhere that's not monitored routinely.
