The real haircut with eliminating tipping is on taxes....y'know, having to pay them on what you actually make.
In 1991 Chi-Chi's restaurant had a requirement that all servers claim 15% in tips on their nightly receipts. Also, any tip written on charge card receipts would be counted as written unless the tip was less than 15%. If a customer wrote a 12% tip on rec't, the server was required to claim the additional 3%. Lots of grumblings about legalities but the servers had their workarounds. Some food service places I worked at before and after Chi-Chi's considered tips communal and would divide the nightly dollars among all wait staff and bussers. Lots of grumblings but again lots of workarounds.

This is part of the reason I tip in cash when I can. My kids worked as servers for a minute and they told me that servers love getting cash tips.

I don't know what that means. In Monroe county we are still under a mask mandate but I thought the rest of the state wasn't.

Can someone give a brief explanation on what just got extended?
Yeah, I'm confused too. I see signs in some places saying masks are suggested or "encouraged", but not required. The masked people are definitely in the minority around me.

But that's only because the vaccines are so effective!!

    My post is a bit off topic, in that it's a hint of things to come;

Yesterday, I placed an order for a combined 50k envelopes of four different types. Was informed that every one of the four was backordered for 6 to 8 weeks. I have a 1 month supply on hand. Three or four phone calls later to other sources, I find that everyone is in the same boat.

After 36 years in business, I have plenty of cash reserves to survive these issues, for years if necessary. But many companies do not.

I'm starting to get a really bad feeling about this s***. Look for a lot of FOR LEASE signs at locations near you.

Lockdowns were never suppose to work, it wasn't for the purpose of stopping the spread. It was to intentionally destroy small businesses, Trumps economy and usher in their Great Reset.

Am I the only one who thought how convenient that Omicron came along just when the Christmas shopping season was picking up?

I don't believe in coincidences anymore, [They] didn't want us all getting together with friends and families to be able to discuss all thats been going on, main reason behind the masks and distancing, to try and disconnect us from one another and keep as many people in the dark about their crimes and in fear, typical communist tactics.

Holcomb has too many Chicom side deals, we need a MAGA America First candidate to replace him.
Off topic but speaking of MAGA, I'm at the range Sunday and two young ladies are shooting in the lane next to me. They have a selection of 9 mm handguns, and a just purchased Maverick 88 12 gauge. They were having a little difficulty with the shotgun, and had one of the range employees give them some instruction.

A short time later as I'm winding down one of the two notices me step back from the divider and ask me if I know anything about the shotgun. I engage in conversation then give a little instruction on using a vigorous stroke when operating a shotgun.

I asked what they were shooting and it was 3 9 mm handguns and the 12 gauge shotgun. I asked if they had a 22 caliber pistol or rifle to practice with and they said no.

I therefore offered to let them put a few rounds through my Taurus tx22 and buckmark. As the younger one step forward I noticed her backwards camo hat was in fact a MAGA hat.

Overall I was pleased with their willingness to own firearms, practice with firearms, and seek out information and instruction. We need a lot more like them.

We are the majority and its not even close! Also, absolutely I would be pleased too, best way to get accustomed to firearms is to ask questions, learn and practice. Defensive pistol classes are also vital.
