Some folks really hate YouTube gun "experts"
This guy is NOT a gun expert, and maybe not an expert at all... but he's transparent and does measurable testing of all kinds of tools, lubes and general mechanical experiments.

Give it a watch and check out some of the other stuff he's posted if you've got an interest in that kind of stuff.

Informative video, thanks. I've been using Ballistol with decent results

I use FP10, but have been working Ballistol in more and more. Especially for exterior wipe downs and such. I use the Ballistol wipe down towel on my Benchmade blades also. Much rather end up with Ballistol residue in my food, than other gun oils.

I really like the job the Project Farm guy does. I do have to confess to jumping to the end of most of his video's though.

I've been using this on firearms in my safe, and I'm going to put some on my RIA 1911 to see how it does on it. So far so good as a protective layer. Just spray some on your fingers and rub in like you would oil or clp.

I haven't tried it as a lubricant just protection from rust on the outer metal surfaces of my firearms.

It's been 9 months since I've used it on them and it's working well.

For lubricant I like MPro7 and Lucas.

For cleaning good Ole Hoppes #9 or Ballistol depending on what I need to clean.
I've tried the new stuff out but Hoppes and Ballistol has been around for years and I really don't see the new copper or lead fouling removers do better and in many cases as good. I bought a 32oz bottle of Hoppes years ago and it's still got plenty left.

I wonder if Hoppes has an expiration date :)

WD-40 is not a lubricant. Don't use it as such.

Ballistol for cleaning and wipe down, but I've moved to a different lubricant.
I use Lubriplate engine assembly grease for heavy use, and Permatex engine assembly lube for light stuff.
    Works really well for me.

Yeah, I meant locally as I'd rather buy local. Scotts Hardware in Scottsburg even advertises it on the door, but I've never seen them stock it.
It probably gets sold out fast. Stop by ask them to order you some and save you some. It could also be stuck on a ship being it's made in Germany iirc.

What gun grease do you use? I don't use grease very much but my 1oz tube I've had for years is getting on the empty side. Is there any new wonder grease out now? I've been using Hoppes gun grease.

    Thinking about getting this.
Looks like it would be easier to get into places I use it on.
