From what I saw of his confirmation hearings, he came across as a typical bureaucratic bully. He would be content to hide behind his title and office, twisting the law for his own ends, and tying people up in red tape - making the process the punishment. But as soon as he is dragged into public, a light shone onto his activities and beliefs, and he has to answer for his conduct he crumbles.
That, and we also need to keep in mind that by all rights he should have spent the last 25 years in prison.

He claims it wasn't. I know scopes is typically guilty of spinning their agenda, but there is a video in the link...

As much as Snopes lies I am not taking their word for it and sure as hell won't take Chipmunk's word for it.

After checking the Snopes link, I do think I want to sign up for a geography lesson.

Chipman wants to ban the AR-15 and other such weapons and those who possess then now will have to register them under the NFA if he gets in and has his way.
Yes register yours so he can know what you own but when asked what he owns he said that is personal and private. Just a question to everyone do you think he will be accepted or not. And do we as the subjects I mean people have any recourse against this glaring over reach?

I tend to lean towards believing it wasn't Chipman in that Waco pic. After seeing him testify it's clear he is a cowardly weasel type. I doubt he is brash enough to take part in any dirty work like that. He seems like the type that lets others do it while he hides in the background.

So, one question the OP asked was if he's rejected, can Biden appoint Chipman anyhow as an "acting" director.

I think the answer is no... since it is a Senate confirmed position, an "acting" director must have previously been Senate confirmed for some role, any role, but must have been confirmed for something.

As far as Chipman, put me down as being "more like Big Red". :)

But whatever would make you think he won't be confirmed?

I also believe they don't care about the law and will probably use some form of executive order to put him in there if by some miracle he is not confirmed.

We will see... personally, whether he is or not, I will note all from red/purple areas who vote for him and send money to their opponents.

If they thought they could get away with it, they would. Currently, they can't, so they won't... with a new, improved and packed Supreme Court? Nothing is off the table. (which, as we all know, is the reason they want to pack it - unlimited power)

I really don't think this little richardsucker is a point where they would spend the political capital needed to overcome some of the strongest pushback against a D nominee in history. There are plenty of equally bad alternatives available.

I hope your right I just don't know that they could actually pick a worse person suited for this job.

Cutting right to the chase here. It’s blatantly obvious why Chipman was picked and it’s a reflection of Biden’s policy agenda concerning the 2nd Amendment.

It’s no secret. It was outlined for all to see on his campaign website. Some chose to ignore it.
