It was probably just me. I spent a weekend counting and realized I have enough ammo for the rest of my life and stopped purchasing. You're welcome. ;)

In all seriousness, I noticed stock being stagnate as prices rose. I have not seen a decrease yet,, more of a flat line. I know I quit buying as I think prices are too high now and I plenty of ammo now.

I'm actually seeing more ammo available now but the prices are still to high. Also I wonder how high prices will be with the lead shortage or was it tariff charges I can't remember I do recall reading lead prices going up this year for some reason I just can't recall why now. Anyone know why lead is increasing in price?

I believe the only lead smelting plant in the states was shut down 2 or 3 years ago, for upgrades, have no idea if it is up and running again. Most all of our lead is presently imported nt really sure from where but i have my thoughts[china]. Yes manufcturers are having trouble with lead and copper and even brass too. Was in home depot
just the other day and a 250ft roll of 12/2 was 180 bucks a year ago it was like 80 bucks, extreme and berrys have had pretty heavy price increase too

I stopped by two of my LGSs yesterday. Both had stacks and full shelves/tables of ammo. They are getting deliveries by the case again, instead of a mix of odd boxes, or nothing, within the past week or two.

All of it priced very high, presumably to keep stock on hand until the next delivery.

That's a good sign if it is sustained. You gotta have supply before the demand will start to wane. The big unknown is where pricing will settle once supply and demand equalize.

What is scary is my 2a convert friend, (New Owner) really does not see $50.00 a box for 9mm as over the top!
I can relate, being a new 2A convert myself this year. It’s all relative to one’s perspective; I’ve never known anything other $25 for a box of 9mm, with the rare unicorns ever being lower than that.

At least I am no longer being ridiculed by some of my friends that let me know that I was totally wrong for buying ammo at Walmart when they were clearing it out. Think I paid like $3.00 a box for perfecta 9mm and some where around $12.00 a box for Remington Green and White Box 45 acp Hollow points 100 rounds.

The prices seem to be a little stable at the moment but on the higher side. I do most of my purchases online so can only speak to what I seen lately. The one thing I have noticed is the some calipers are at a better rate and availability than others so all depends on what you want/need. Although those calipers move quickly most of the time once they are listed. Have also seen some pretty crazy pricing per box and surprisingly those disappear pretty quickly also.

Like it has been said before the component resource availability is going to be a big factor. Those prices are said to be increasing and some raw material might be harder to obtain so the end product prices will be higher. Then also add the uncertainty to what the current administration is planning with changing gun and gun related equipment laws the prices will stay higher than normal.

Like almost everything else it is a crap shoot. You can hold out thinking the prices will come down to a price that you want/expect or pickup the ammo you use/want now and take the hit. It’s a 50/50 win/lose shot either way.

Remember that likely is from the old contract that knowledgeable members told us would be expiring soon...

    May 1st?

FWIW, since May 1st I've seen stacks of ammo show up at big box stores AND at LGS's.

And also, prior to May 1st, I had seen exactly ONE box of .380 ACP on a store of any kind shelf in the past 15 months.

I haven't bought loaded ammo in quite sometime. Reading the posts about a dollar a round got me thinking. If you go to the range or if you're lucky out your back door..and load your hi cap mag 3X thats roughly $45 to shoot 3 mags..thats like 15 minutes of shooting. Or 2 minutes for some.
A hour of shooting is $180 In a hour.
JSMDH. I'm not even sure why I just posted that everyone knows the math
    Its just disgusting

I managed to get a hold of some of the new Federal Punch 9mm at RK this week, and some Aguila 500ct .22 and a 500ct of Thunderbolts. Holy hell though, the Thunderbolts were $37. Hope that price comes down if and when this gets back to normal.

Is it just me or does it seem like ammo prices are coming down the last couple of days? We can only hoard so much before the supply and demand catch up huh? And ammo companies will just keep pumping it out. I do wish they would pump out more 45, it is still kind of salty!

You may want to ask this guy...
