What I stated was that I am not actively fighting for the 2A rights of non-violent felons. No more, no less. There are far more existential threats to RKBA to concentrate on. I have 99 problems and that isn't one of them, mostly because idiots voted for Xiden

Edit: This was meant as a response to #777, not Dave
My approach is that rather than fighting over details we need a comprehensive approach to the 2A and KYFHO seems like a good standard.

My approach is prevent things from getting worse first, especially for those who have never run afoul of the law. Tinkering at the margins is a distraction and counter-productive

No, but they don't have to be the ones designing the mechanism. Just put the release on the top to be pushed by the thumb.
No disagreement on that. You have me in visioning something generally similar to a Mossberg Shockwave with the trigger where the safety would be, only smaller overall. No potential to confuse that. As long as a redesign is industry-centric and not government-centric, it should be ok.

She’s $&@¥ idiot. Honestly I’m really pissed at the general vilification of LE. This might be the one time I see things from ya’ll perspective about MSM. Even the “experts” sound like idiots to me.
Kut this is across the board sir. The MSM emboldens these morons and gives them the spotlight.

So in my hypothetical earlier in the thread, the cop would be at fault?

I'll restate it if you didn't see it:
An officer pulls someone over for a felony traffic stop. The individual has a heart condition, and the experience causes them to have a heart attack and die in the process of being arrested.
Is the cop on the hook for murder/manslaughter?

This sounds really unlikely to be something a cop would end up going to prison over...
Not if the officer remains within the law, within departmental policy and acts reasonably.

We allow police officers to commit acts that for ordinary mortals would be assault and other crimes as long as doing so is reasonably necessary. (heck, even remotely necessary)

When they use force that is unreasonably excessive and/or unwarranted, the officer loses that allowance and becomes an ordinary criminal responsible for their actions.

In your same example, if the "actor" was criminal perpetrating a crime, say a car jacking, who roughly man-handled/assaulted a victim with an underlying fragile condition, causing them to have a heart attack and die, would the perp be on the hook for the death?

A badge is not carte blanche.
