A spotting scope, or a nice pair of binoculars are very nice to have handy !@MindfulMan , don't hate my terrible photography. Its a cellphone. Lol. I need to start bringing the telescope for the truck bed maybe.
Not this guy. I wanna see them do the chicken walk now.Who knew coots were cranes?
I know that old coots will crane their necks when there are owls around.Who knew coots were cranes?
Speaking of old coots, I swapped scopes today and did some dry frying after bore sighting was done. A bench rest provides a more steady sight picture than a bipod, but not by much. I can mostly break the "shot" on the same spot with ~1/4" variation occasionally at 75yds.
What I've mostly been working on at the range is aiming the rifle without inducing forces on it that will cause varying recoil reactions.

Yes. I have several of the refurbs and this is the first one I could tell had been mounted before. Sort of a shining up of the finish where the rings were. It's a refurb right? Is that the refurb Viper PST Gen II you picked up? What do you think so far? I'm digging mine, but of course haven't actually shot with it on yet.
you better double check the recommended torque on that tape ... bend the tube and your shots will be fubar'dSince everyone getting their long range rigs and new scopes out... I’ll play. Just finished mounting this scope up to my long range hunting rifle.

That front rest is only found at the bottom of the bed of a 1965 Chevy truck full of old aluminum beer cans! Quite a rare model, might throw it up on gunbroker later. That scope is .5x magnification. From the book I read it was recommended for the .40 Magnum.Ohhhh, I really like that front rest. I need one of those ! And do tell ... what is the magnification of that magnificent brass scope ???
You'll be able to reach out and touch.... something.Since everyone getting their long range rigs and new scopes out... I’ll play. Just finished mounting this scope up to my long range hunting rifle.
