Ladies and gentlemen... tonight we celebrate! Tomorrow, we start emailing our Senators and watching for which committee its gets assigned. I feel a lot better about Corrections and Criminal Law than I do Judiciary.

When this gets assigned to committee, it's time to ARC LIGHT the R's on the committee with emails/letters/calls/post cards/whatever we can think of to get their attention.

Vote sheet is below: 65-31 with 4 excused. Lets not forget how the vote went.

This was surprising: Rita Fleming (D) District 71, NRA-PVF "D", voted Yes on HB 1369.

Here are five NRA-PVF-endorsed Representatives who voted no. I just sent an email to my NRA-ILA POCs.

Just sent my Senate critter an email asking for his support. Unfortunately, I'm represented by J.D. Ford in the Senate. I don't hold out much hope that my request will get any consideration.

    Waiting on committee assignment.

How do people feel about Mike Bohacek?
Haven't gotten any responses other than a generic reply that he looks forward to answering. I know he doesn't have a great NRA rating?

You keep using that term, it is going to be twisted.
Not sending in the BUFFs in this case... but I see where you're coming from.

Edit: the late Col David Hackworth used the term in the pre-social media Internet. Different world today.

    Here is Aylesworth's excuse

Thank you for reaching out to me. I understand your concern with protecting the Second Amendment, and I assure you that I fully support our constitutional rights. I voted no on House Bill (HB) 1369, because of the powerful testimony of Indiana State Police and other law enforcement officers who presented many different reasons as to why this bill would be detrimental to Hoosiers and to our officers. Not only this, but I have gone to many town halls in District 11 with many constituents opposed to unlicensed carry.

I am a firm supporter of American gun rights and if I believed that our current process was an infringement on these rights, then I would have addressed it. I believe the system currently in place effectively protects Hoosiers.

Thank you for staying involved in the political process. If I can ever be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me again at 317-234-9447 or h11@iga.in.gov.

    Sincerely,

    Mike Aylesworth

    State Representative

    House District 11
