Yes. I posted that video here somewhere. It's practically criminal. They could build in a lot more capacity for that 13 million rather than doing the curfews. And "awareness" is nonsense. How many people stopped taking drugs because someone fried an egg with a stern narrative voice barking a warning and ominous music playing in the background?

I think "raising awareness" is the progressives' way of feeling like they did something without actually doing anything. So what have YOU done to solve the problem? "I walked 5 miles while wearing a pink ribbon to raise awareness." Oh. So basically nothing.

And they are fining homeless people.
    Really? Fining homeless.

They've fined people that were essential workers, and had their paperwork on them.
    (Papers Please).

    And yet there's no rebellion.

Personally, until we are at the point where there is plenty of vaccine and no more takers, I don't know why there would be talk of incentives. My only question at this point is whether I could be turned into a zombie with a placebo.

You will get the zombie juice, you are a member here so you are on the right wing extremist terrorist list. No placebo for you!

Great numbers in Indiana over the last few days.

2,200 positives today, 2,500 yesterday, 3,100 the day before. The average at this point is about 2,900. As a reminder, that's down from a peak daily average of 6,900 in early December and a peak day of 8,400 around the same time. The positivity rate is dropping too, so it's not just fewer tests.

Daily deaths have fallen from a peak average of 84 in December to 33 today.

There are 31.2% of ICU beds available. Total COVID hospital patients are at about 2,000 today compared to about 3,500 in late November.

That is great. Have you noticed any effect of the new strains at all?

I think the UK strain is in Indiana. Don't know about the South Africa one. The state is not reporting what strains are resulting in positives, probably because they are not set up for that kind of testing. If we see a reversal of trends, that will be worth looking into.

I doubt we are seeing much affect from vaccinations yet, but that should start kicking in with the death rate at some point in February given that a few weeks after the first dose, some measure of resistance starts building and the population that is getting them (outside healthcare providers) are those most likely to have severe or fatal results. I think it will take a bit longer, and more vaccinations to see an affect on the positivity averages and rates.

Hospitalizations lag a couple of weeks behind positivity trends and deaths lag a couple of weeks behind hospitalizations.

Under 1,800 new cases today- average has dropped to around 2,800.

Over 33% of ICU beds available.

    Under 2,000 COVID hospital patients.

One day does not tell the tale, but the trend in encouraging. We have not had a daily positive total under 2,000 since October.

And less than a week after Biden is sworn in, Democrat strongholds across the country are ALL about reopening.

I'm sure they are just following the science.
