The Olympics is already on-board with this. Wonder what it will do to the much-valued viewer ratings for Figure Skating, when the womens' Gold Medal is won by a dude? Do you think women will get on board with this like Ellen Degeneres and say the guy is really inspiring? Or will they abandon ship and go watch Hallmark movies instead?

Wonder if trans women will do well, initially, in judged events? Until the judges are collectively called out as bigots, that is.

How true. My daughter was a competitive figure skater, and with guys now doing quad jumps with no problem, it shouldn't be too long before a guy realizes that he can finish last in the men's group but if he "changes" gender can win the women's group.

Phylo, I love you man, but I fear that you are going to stroke out.

A blind man could see all of this coming, surprisingly some here didn't and voted for it.

I am going out back, digging a hole, pulling it in on myself and will come out to check in about 4 years, and probably go back in to wait out the nuclear winter of Libprogacrat RULE.

They have it all for at least the next two years. They are going to push thtough everything they have been wet dreaming of for decades.

I said for the next to years, but since they own the election process now, I'll most likely die in their shower room.

My only regret will be that they will probably not scatter my ashes over St. Mere Eglese drop zone at Ft. Bragg, NC.

OH, :poop:! I just remembered they are going to disenfranchise Braxton Bragg and change it to Ft. Chelsie Manning.

This has already happened in multiple sports. I'm not sure on the solution on trans people in sports as I do believe they should be able to compete in sports if desired, but having biological males competing against biological females isn't the solution. Biological females will never win another title if this is allowed.

Here's an example of Rachel McKinnon who won a women's cycling competition on the first attempt after placing very low in a men's cycling event: https://www.velonews.com/news/comme...se-of-transgender-cyclist-dr-rachel-mckinnon/

As far as socially liberal goes I am far more to the left than the right. I believe in a general tollerance of others regardless of their individual quirks and identifiers. I believe all people should be treated equally under the law. Philosophically I never supported gay marriage but I did support gay civil unions with the same legal rights as marriage. I put civil rights at the TOP of my priorities, above safety and national security.

However, this I believe is ridiculous. As much as all people need to be treated equally legally that doesn't mean they ARE equal. There are certain undeniable differences that we cannot wipe away. Should a 5'0" person be allowed to play on a basketball team? Sure. Should a college or professional team be forced to take a 5'0" player on their team? No, of course not.

This does not lean one way or the other. I would never want a person the size of a professional basketball player as the jockey of my Kentucky Derby horse no matter how well they ride!

The problem I believe many liberals have is their failure to appreciate that sports is about competition, about winning through adversity and overcoming the odds. But this does not mean unreasonable odds. When you think about it some of the existing gender separation rules are very liberal! They do not allow women to compete against overwhelming odds.

There are some sports that should not bar either sex from participating. Target shooting for example. The sex of the person squeezing the trigger has no bearing on the accuracy of the shot. In horse racing men out number women as jockeys by a huge margin but the women are still allowed to ride. Again gender has no bearing here, or at least not significant enough to overbalance the odds.

But in many cases gender does overwhelm the odds. Men and women are built structurally differently. This is an undeniable fact of science, biology or life. Choose your own term. By allowing a person born as male to directly compete with females forces the women to compete against overwhelming odds, odds that cannot be defeated.

I believe that if a woman can do a job she should be allowed to do the job. This may mean that only one (1) out of 10,000 women could do certain jobs - BUT if they can they should be allowed to do so. This is not the same in sports. Women should not have to compete against a man, because in that case there is no true competition!

Sports is about overcoming the odds by being the absolute best you can be by competing with near equals. Most of us are not good at sports. Any high school girl track runner could kick my butt right now running any distance. I would not be anywhere near her equal. I would lose, and lose badly.

The kind of thinking that is trying to force square pegs into round holes and vice versa will end badly for all players. I wish that the coaches of the true girls would simply refuse to compete against the transgender. Let them win by default. Let them have a hollow victory - over and over again. Maybe then someone will wake up.

    Regards,

    Doug

There are some sports that "men" won't win, but not many. Mostly judged sports that require a lot of agility, ie gymnastics. Anything based upon physical performance is doomed.

Sadly, I think the only solution for the girls is to not participate. Let the sports die from a lack of participation.

I don't disagree with any of this but I do not consider myself anywhere near the left. The right has been demonized so severely that people actually believe the left has a monopoly on believing theses thing. I believe the left long ago abandoned these beliefs and simply now use them to appear virtuous while attempting to destroy everything that made this country a place people from all over the world want to join.

Trans people should have every right to compete in sports. They can create their own trans only or play with everyone else as the gender they were assigned at birth.
This is probably about all you can do, or they could compete but not allowed to take a valuable winning/runner-up spot.
