Doddg you can get what I use for hunting and I work outside year round these work great for warming up your hands when needed.

    Thanks! for being helpful.
I opened the link thinking I was going to see a pair of gloves thin enough for trigger work but efficient enough to keep my fingertips from going numb.
I was surprised to see the hand warmers!
Now that's an old-fashioned remedy from my youth I never thought about!
I've already ordered an electric handwarmer that should see me through any 40-ish degree range visits.

    Pretty much Michigan.
So the charging handles on the wannabe P90 have been annoying me for a while, they were tiny and ugly. I was waiting on HTA to get some of their knurled aluminum ones back in stock but its been months so i decided to design my own and 3D print them out of carbon fiber PETG filament. Turned put pretty good i think. Also I regret buying my stock in arctic Grey, the .22 makes it filthy and it doesnt clean up. Before and after pics below.

Got my Savage FV-SR Mark 2 rifle back from Savage after them doing a list of things to address the extraction issues.
After shooting some practice rounds sighting the scope (put a Hawke on it bought from Aeroflyer), I dialed it in then used my rifle targets with the 7/8" circles.
I kept fine-tuning dialing it in as I went & got tighter groups in the first row.
2nd row started out with a 5/5, but I couldn't keep the consistency, & finished poorly on the last target.
I've shot better with the Savage before (see target below).
    Using CCI Standard Velocity.

I intend to find out if this Savage outshoots my other bolt actions (RPR & CZ 457).
Zachcz, who I bought the Savage from, says it does outshoot the others, and I want to prove him wrong:), but so far I haven't.
More range time will make it evident.
I don't want to make the decision of keeping only the one that is the most accurate, which is my default with handguns, but figuring out which I enjoy shooting the most.
    I enjoy shooting all three.
I've had the 10/22 the longest.
I like the flexibility RPR & sharing mags with 10/22 & both I bought from Aeroflyer.
I have always wanted a CZ & picked up two this summer, so it will be fun figuring it all out.
Since the CZ 512 semi-auto is outshooting everything, it could be that all of my movement that takes place fighting the rear gun rest is the reason why.

Waited to go to MCFG outdoor range till wind was under 10 mph & temp around 40*.
It was still cold with fingertips needing my hand warmer I got just for these occasions.
Picked up Ggreen's Savage A22 since his range pics showed some great shooting from this Savage.
I didn't expect to shoot at his level, and it was a mixed bag for me.

Since I'm selling the Ruger 10/22 with a stainless steel barrel, upgraded trigger & Mannlicher stock that I picked up from Aeroflyer 22 months ago,
I took the cantilever rings (needed for height & bringing scope back to my eye) off the 10/22 with the Nikon Prostaff scope & put it on the Savage A22.

I was pleased with how the Savage A22 did on its first outing.
I had some good groups with 16 circles/targets getting 4-5 rounds in these 7/8" blue circles.
I evaluate the rifles on the percentage of rounds in each of the row of 5 targets out of 25 possible (5 rds/circle).
If I do a whole page then it gives me 5 or 6 rows of raw scores converted to a %, for comparison.

    50 yds using CCI SV.
Notice the row of 10 tiny circles at the bottom: I was more consistent shooting at them than the regular circles! :dunno:
You can see where I was tweaking the scope as I went along.

Someone needs to get doddg a set of calipers to measure those groups. :)

Good shooting doddg. I can tell you're enjoying retirement.

Appreciate you thinking of me & sending me pics!

I've been using boards to get the right height combined with 3 different heights of soft bags for my front sight since my metal front rest needs repaired.
Getting the rear height has proven to be problematic since every rifle is different in what it needs it seems.
The rear rest is a moving target (pardon the pun) b/c of the variables in stocks & rings/optic systems.

I liked the "Nest Rest" that is showing & my goal is to find bigger bags as well.
Getting a sled seems more than what I need since I'm never going to be shooting in competitions, or spend the money for the "ultimate" rifle that would maximize a sled's potential.

It is fun finding a moderately price rifle like the CZ 512 semi-auto (paid $350 used/like new) that does better than anything else I've had.
It's fun seeing whether the Savage A22 I got from Ggreen will do better or be comparable.

I am having fun & I enjoy keeping my target stats.

I actually have digital & non-digital calipers & intend to use them when the shooting becomes more finely tuned.

The Ruger 10/22 can't compete with the CZ 512 or the Savage A22 so it will be sold since I've gone from 2 to 7 rifles & I've even sold 4 or 5.
In the future if I decide to cut back to just one semi-auto, the calipers will definitely have to come out.

Next, in the bolt-actions, I will see if there is a distant 3rd, like with the semi-autos.
I might have to get out the calipers.

Bolt action today to take advantage of the high 40* temps:
    - Savage FV-SR
    - Ruger Precision Rifle
Used CCI Standard Velocity (40 gr. SRLN (solid round lead nose).

Using the RPR on the 1st row (1-5), I spent time trying to fine fine tune the scope.
On beginning of the 2nd row (#6), I thought I had it.
I obviously didn't "keep it."
But, I did double the "score" from 29% to 60%.

On the last 2 rows (row 4 & 5), I started with the last target (#25) & descended to #16.
Row 4 improved to 76%, but I want to get 80% as a minimum

On a hill in Perry C
Had a few mine out today and decided to stretch their legs out to 100 yards. Other than being a little cool (35f) the weather was almost perfect, almost dead calm and clouds kept the light fairly consistent.
First up my Tikka T1x. Leupold VXIII 6.5-20x40 scope, set at 20x.
Group sizes with Eley Action were 1 1/8", 1", 15/16" and a 9/16" screamer. SK Rifle Match did 1", 3/4", and a pure luck 7/16" wallet group.
    Osq8HOm.jpg
Next up Ruger American full size, Hawke Vantage 4-16x40 scope set at 16x.
Groups with Eley Action were 1 3/4" and a decent 7/8", SK Magazine did 1 3/8 and 1".
    prF3Ugf.jpg

After plinking steel out to 150 with the Tikka the weather was starting to get a little nasty, spitting snow and rain and the wind was getting up but had one more I wanted to shoot.
Finally the plain jane, bone stock, 10/22 that had issues with the scope mounting holes mentioned a few pages back. Hawke Vantage 3-9x40 set at 9x. Shot it at just 50 as I haven't really done much shooting with it yet. As windy as it was getting I decided not to shoot for group and just put a few on paper to check zero and function.

    VERY nice jtp. Well done.

The wind shows on that last 50 yard target.

Thanks! Yeah, I wasn't doing much doping for the wind, it was getting really gusty and blowing almost perpendicular to the bullet path.

Thanks, I was impressed with the show off groups, those were mostly luck. Anything under an inch with a 22 I usually put down to the shooting Gods smiling on me.

Not sure how I've missed this thread, but I'll play along.

    My two rifles:

Ruger American Rimfire Target with Vortex Diamondback 6x24x50 scope:

Bad photo of my Anschutz (that I can't recall the model of). Got this from another INGO member who had lightened up the trigger nicely. I now have a Vortex Diamondback 4x12x40 scope on it:

    Targets from Annie:

I believe those were all at 50 yards. Can't seem to find any from the Ruger. Will have to rectify that once the weather warms up a bit.

    Awesome looking Ruger!
That looks like a bull barrel?
Great stock & the Vortex Diamondback 4x12x40 is a great match.

Your targets are sensational in my "league."
Thanks so much for posting targets b/c I really enjoy seeing what others are doing.

Is the Anschutz an older model?
I had a heads up on one for $500 which got my attention, but when I did research I found the same older model for as low as $350.
Not knowing anything Anscultz about particular models, I didn't pursue it.
I'd rather buy one eventually from someone through INGO that has one set up with a rail/rings arrangement or even including a scope & has targets to show what it can do.
All my rifles & vast majority are from INGO.

I'm thinking if I move up a model I should do so with a Tikka, although the Bergara is on my radar for the same reason the Tikka is: INGO friends have them or are wanting them.

    Yes on the bull barrel:

The Anschutz is an older model (1700 FWT, just took it out of the safe to look it up). I bought it from patience and he said it was a ~$2k rifle. It was my entry into bolt action .22 rifles and I love it. The trigger is very light and crisp and it shoots very well. patience said he had the best luck with SK Standard Plus, but I had very good results with Wolf Match Target and even CCI SV, though of course the CCI had more fliers.

If I were buying another .22 bolt action rifle, I'd be having a hard time deciding between the Tikka, or the CZ 457 AT-ONE.
