Don't know if it has been mentioned yet or not, but if you had a previous free account that you had listed things with, your can go back to your deactivated ads and reactivate them still with a free account. You can also edit the entire ad, so you may have been selling a shotgun and you can edit it to sell Glocks, ammo, AK's or whatever you wish. I've done it like that several times now, just keep recycling the same ad. Also, paid members can still email me and I can reply with my free account.

I'm not interested in finding ways around the system. Same as paypal and such. I won't lie to use them, and I don't want to deal with liars who use them. Armslist changed their business model, and while I will not participate in it, it's still a good reference for local pricing and availability, so I will use it as a free resource for that as long as they allow it. Same as Gunbroker, I will avail myself of the free features, as long as they remain free.

When any site requires payment to actively participate, I will make a judgement call as to whether the cost is worth the benefit. For Armslist, and for me, it's absolutely not a pay-for-value service.

I wasn't searching for a way to beat the system. My friends were telling me that they were being charged and I was not. I guess they implemented the changes while I had active ads. I've had my Armslist account since 2011. If they close that loophole then that's fine. I have a major problem with the lack of security when it comes to making payments with them, leaning more towards the ability to track exactly who I am but providing them my bank account or credit card when one of the alphabet companies finally flips them and they turn over a would be registry to them. To try to make me out as a sleezeball for using Armslist that way is beyond ridiculous.

Did you get out your popcorn for the banhammer? In today's world I've come to realize you cannot speak freely online because it's always someone else's "house". I refuse to accept belittling, even by an admin. Yes I could read between the lines of his comment that somehow what I did showed me to be a dishonorable person, to which I'm absolutely not.

Is this the holdup that happened just a couple of days ago at the Speedway? I wasn't aware that it was an online sale meet. That Speedway isn't the busiest parking lot in that area, but it's certainly not the least busy either. And to make a fast getaway, they would have to go east on 465. Any other direction would mean a 5 minute wait for traffic.

The last 2 weeks there have been .22LR handguns I've wanted to buy on Armslist.
But, you have to hand over info to their database.

I've looked into getting a pre-paid credit card, but they come with their own set of fees when I've asked my bank or looked online.
I tried getting an additional different card from the company where I've had one for years & get a small limit on it.
I thought that would be simple, getting another card with a small limit ($50-$100) on it so if it was hacked, there would be minimal damage.
But, that has it's own hazards as well since they want you to apply all over again & be approved,
But, I don't want a $10k limit, then try to have them reduce it, to $100, just to find out they won't let.
I haven't figured it out yet.

I can't believe that the other method is to turn over your bank account number AND routing number to Armslist. :dunno:

Do you have PayPal? Use the PayPal key option. It allows you to use a debit or credit card, or even your PayPal balance, and generate a completely new CC #. Can use it and delete it. Create a new number next time.

    Just an idea

Several credit card companies will do this, too. For instance, my Capital One card does it, without needing to go through any additional services. Not a bad idea whenever paying for a one-time-only transaction from some new company.

I saw a good deal this morning and was tempted to pay, until they wanted my street address and suddenly I could feel big brother looking over my shoulder...

So you are that tender then. Did I call you a name.
Did I do anything to cast you in a bad light.

You did that all on your own and yes you are gaming the system and sharing how to do it with others. It is all right there in your post. So this is on you new guy I just pointed out that it says a lot about you. What you see that as is pretty clear.
