Doing a minor mod to a 1911. AllenM did the front strap checkering and it turned out beautiful. Right now, parts are being polished and tuned for reassembly.

Finally got around to filling the stock and forend of my Ruger American Ranch with silicone to stiffen it and make it sound less hollow. Messy job but TOTALLY worth it.

I've got parts coming in from Aero Precision to build an M5 308 16" barrel. Had a 10% off code so got everything from them except Charging handle, BCG, A2 buttstock, and muzzle brake. They said it will be five weeks before they can ship anything out to me unfortunately.

There was another thread about items shipping during these pandemic times but I'll post my update here since it's going to be part of a project now. It took 51 days to get the parts I ordered. They "originally shipped" on March 30. After a phone call, some emails and a Paypal dispute I finally got my parts. The seller claimed that the PO must have lost it. That may be. I'm just glad I finally got my stuff. Anywho, I picked up a M1A Socom in early March. I did some research to figure out what I needed to suppress said M1A. The tool to remove the flash hider/gas plug and a bipod mount were ordered through someone else. The threaded block and an adjustable gas plug were the parts I was waiting on. So maybe this weekend I can finally finish the M1A.

Another "project" I've had is the PSL. Not really a project-project but the amount of effort I've had to put into this has turned it into one. All because of an optic. I had a bit of an ordeal with the business I bought it from (as a package deal) regarding the optic. Finally got it returned and got all my money back for the optic portion for it. The gun was fine. Last week I ordered a new optic from Kalinka. My fault this time as I ordered the wrong height for the mount. Emailed them asking if it was possible to buy a taller mount (when it's all done I'll go into more detail as to why). Got a quick reply stating they do not sell mounts but I could send the optic back and they will put a different mount on it for free (retaining the optic). Really happy with those guys. So I'll be shipping that back before the week is over to get the new mount.

I am in the mood for another AR project but need to figure out which direction to go. I’m really liking the short, light flavor lately and may build one up for the wife. Or maybe retro. Who knows.

I have always wanted a 'Nam era AR with the triangular hand guard and fixed carry handle, solid butt stock, etc. But it would be more of a novelty since I'm not shooting iron sights anymore (well at least not peep sights).

So, being who I am, I won't build one.:)

Deep cleaning all my firearms one by one and taking the time to clean everything on each firearm. The same for all my reloading equipment. Do some reloading. That way when the plague lifts, I’ll be ready to go to the range.

For real. I'm trying to paint some doors, drawer fronts and vanity frames that I built. I get a day here and there. Then I have to do something else. Which is not really an issue for me.:)

Yep yardwork is a never ending cycle

My son graduates from Purdue this month. I built him an AR from an 80% lower and had it custom engraved with his own personalized serial number. (proud papa!)

Fixing a couple gun things. Getting everything to 100% then I accidentally bought an art barrel and realized I had 90% of the parts I needed for 3 new uppers and 2 lowers.
Then I decided, I'd rather have 1 great play rifle and 1 great battle rifle rather than the play gun and 5 ars..

Found a few more farkles for an AR15. I really dig these wooden parts from Blackwood Trading Co...... a grip, and an abbreviated butt stock. Also found some distressed American flag :patriot:vinyl decals to apply to 30-round Magpuls. When applied with a heat gun, the website video showed how to get them contoured into every crease on the magazines, making them look like paint. I'll post a pic when I get one decorated.

Way cool I always wanted to build a wood ar. Never got to it though.
