Yellow jackets are no fun at all. Like stepping on a land mine out here in the GSF. At least the skunks get some of them.

Not sure they were yellow jackets. These were little things, lite in color, fast and bit hard. No swelling or red bumps but they got me on the arm, top and back of head. I couldn't see wear they came from. I armed myself with a Co2 fire extinguisher.

That's them, they live in holes or anyplace the queen can start a nest in the spring. Very fast and aggressive. You usually don't see them until you get stung.

I'll have to try that coffee. We get the Kirkland Colombian.

Leadeye - yes, the vodka comes in a big bottle. I believe it is about $20.

Is the Columbian in a gray or silver package? That might be the one I normally get. I know I picked up one of this other blend just to try it, and the cashier commented on how I was going to be sorry I didn't get more than one. Apparently, it was one they used to sell and had brought back. I didn't see it the next time we went but I can't remember if I got it in Mishawaka or Merrillville so maybe it is just at one or the other of their stores.

I was going to prune a barberry bush the other day that is half dead...and then saw it has a big hornets nest in the part that still has leaves. I may have to prune it with fire...if only it were farther from the house. :ar15:

This time of year the nests are getting big, I watch for the constant in and out movement by them and avoid getting close. Was out looking for paw paws this weekend and kept an eye out as I walked.
