I agree with everything you said...Yet my dander has not risen...I am as confused about this part of dander as anyone....

Like Kirk Freeman said the other day...before this happened, I never seriously considered buying one of these things (especially when I saw the cost) but now I want 3 of them.

Look...it's just an inanimate object. On its own, it is not hazardous and many people enjoy fooling around with them. I'm supporting them. If we don't support our own, even if we don't value what they do, when it's under attack, why would another group of gunowners support me or you when red dots or night vision or thermal comes under attack?

All it's going to take is some maniac using one of these devices to kill a bunch of people and the left will pounce on them as the evil culprits...then what ground will you have to stand on for stopping them?

    And another thing...

Notice how we and the NRA keep enshrining the evilness and "nobody needs that" when it comes to full auto. I really we, as a gun community, would quit this sort of talk.

Tony Katz, was talking about this, on the radio, this morning .....

I don't know if he wanted to see, where his rounds were going, or he was going to lite the fuel .....

In his mind, maybe both. I'm not convinced he put much thought into the tanks, just sort of "oh, hey let's send a few rounds at those." Regardless, if he knew much, even tracers aren't likely to light jet fuel in a sealed up tank. More likely the tracers would have been to make getting on target easier, the crowd didn't seem to react for quite a long time and he may have missed with most of his first mag dump.

Something to consider and fight against the antis with: If he was using tracers, you can be certain people would have realized they were being shot at sooner and he would have been easier to locate.

This is where Im at. If giving the anti's bumpstock restriction means we won't have to give them mag limits, supressors or semi auto rifles then fine.

    YET.

I'm on the fence. Pelosi has already said she wants this to create a slippery slope. Shes no longer trying to hide it. She now openly admits she wants a decision that will make future rulings easier for her and her ilk.

Im on the fence. I think they are silly and prone to jamming and have no real tactical value outside of a range toy. Having seen them run, If I HAD to be downrange, I'd choose to make the run for it to safety against the bumpstock vs controlled semi fire. The average person cant hit the broad side of a barn when using a bumpfire and are prone to outrun the bolt. But I know that as useless as this toy is, it could signal an opening for other bans that DO matter.

Look for everyone saying 'not going after mag limits and semi autos' PAY ATTENTION! In the presser for the 'bump bill' feinstein said that is getting introduced as well. They are going after it.

Tim (MAC) outed chris cox of NRA ILA as being hypocritical for saying blah blah blah 'full auto' because he has several of his own NFA MGs

Sounds like they're going to overreach, as usual, and get nothing.

Here's a wrinkle that occurred to me over the lunch hour.

Tactically speaking, this is attack is a new chapter in the 2018 edition of the Anarchists' Cookbook. (Well, I don't know for sure, but its an educated guess.) Is there any worry that terrorists, having seen the effectiveness of this attack, could steal the idea and expand on it?

A semi-trained rear guard and this could've been much worse.

Granted, the mind reels from all the soft targets within the US. But these legal bumpstocks, in the hands of terrorists.... We need to consider that angle of rhetorical attack.

Again though, it seems the guy shot himself at least 45 mins before the room was breeched. He limited the casualties himself.

i wonder if all guns were jammed at that point or he thought they were about to bust in.

Add the legislative aftermath of deweaponizing a population, essentially softening all targets. Yes this attack has been noted. Took one fu&^tard with a rental van in Europe to start a terrorist fad that will continue well into the future. Every attack using guns is an attack on two fronts the initial terror and the long term willing pacification of a population.

One of the complaints lodged is that these things allow easier and faster killing, they make them practically military grade weapons.

What else do we gun owners enjoy that practically makes our guns "military grade"? Make them easier to acquire targets (which in the left's view, make them more efficient killing machines)? Red dot sights maybe? How about thermal imaging sights for another?

Where is the acceptable line in the sand? This is capitulation. And if anyone believes Schumer and his ilk will be satisfied we've thrown bumpstocks under the bus is dreaming.

The very specific issue that the VAST majority have with this device is that it makes a plain civilian SA AR-15 indistinguishable from a FA M-16 in delivering rounds downrange. They could hear what this device does, and if they look at YouTube, see comparisons between the device and FA... minimal difference in utility.

The problem we have is that this time, the perception of the device is true, or so nearly close to true as to be indistinguishable from the truth... it ain't just perception or lies. And, it made a difference in the number killed and injured. And, it mimics a heavily regulated category of weapons which are illegal to make now for civilians. It has been, to this point, a "poor man's" fully automatic and a way to circumvent existing law.

Nope,...according to the cops, "some" were jammed but he still had plenty of fire power available.
