You called me out (So thinly disguised) in open forum. I am one of the folks that supported you when you 1st rolled in and stirred things up. You seem to enjoy that.
You moan about the cliques but when invited to join us you refuse and state you are not that into shooting. That was your response when we as a group reached out to you.
Everything you post is negative and spiteful.
It is obvious you do not much care for the place so with this I bid you farewell for a short time.

Most new people don't give a crap about the classifieds. I've looked at them a couple of times... and laughed. People think they are selling Astatine, and most of what is listed, is available at much better prices and new condition, rather than like-new condition.

The ignore function is very useful. I've employed it, and can only hope that those on my list, have added me to theirs. So, if you haven't done so, please do so now...I'll wait.

I'm curious, just what are we all doing that you don't think you can do or say? You seem to have an awful lot of dislike for the forum. If it were still functional I'd suggest checking out Indiana Shooter, they have a lot of hate for us over there too, or at least they did until their forum died and was shut down. You would have fit in well. You could have walked right in and said "I've been on INGO for 3 months, I know everything about the place and I'm disgruntled." They would have welcomed you with open arms and taught you some new 4 letter words to use. Too bad they were more interested in things like that than becoming a productive online community. They might still be around if they had.

Glad to see you have us all figured out after such a short time. We're all just a bunch of meanies sitting around just waiting for new members to join so we can alienate them just for fun. We're NEVER helpful or care about anyone else at all. Oh, except for things like this.

Just a little bit of information to anyone that's new and finds their way to this thread. You may wonder why all this talk and why are these rules are in place. As has been said many times and in many places, This is not Armslist, Gunbroker, Craigslist, or ARFCOM. INGO is more than just a forum, it's a community. Members here are protective of our community. There are lots of people here who have met or are friends outside of the website. When bad things happen we join in and help out. When good things happen we share that as well. I would take 5 friends here vs 1000 Facebook friends.

The other members will understand this better than the new ones will, but let me ask you a couple of questions anyway.


What does this stand for?

Who is this?

Any clue at all? How was INGO involved?

These things, and so many others, are what make us a community. These things are what make us protective of it. You are welcome to join our community. However if your only reason for being here is because you saw something shiny in the classifieds that you must have right now, or you are here to try and fleece us with things you can't sell on Facebook anymore, then the teeth will come out. Instant gratification is not what this place is about.

Browsing new posts today I ran across another example of why INGO is a great place and why we are so protective of it. Here is a member that's giving away a youth rifle for a child to learn the shooting sports with. He's doing it for free and is not asking for anything in return. This is not the first time he's done this.

Thats when he stated he was not that into shooting. Just owned a gun for self defense. Nuff said.

I remember a couple of the other times. I remember the range offer being mentioned as well. The negativity stands out quite a bit.

Not everyone here has to get along, not everyone here has to have fun with guns. Heck, someone that hates guns can still have a good time on this forum, as long as they don't shove it in everyone's faces and get confrontational. The political section is full of people that have different opinions, the breakroom has so many different topics there's something for everyone. I'm sure that if I wanted advice on just about any topic then someone here would know about it. If one thing isn't your bag then find something else that is. It's not that hard. Stay away from topics you don't like, talk about the one's you do. Find some people you like and agree with, be civil to the ones you don't. Or you can fling poo, make a mess, then not have to worry about anything on the forum again.

Welcome to the real INGO. Understand there are a LOT of people here who just want to troll and see the world burn. They hate their life and want others to hate theirs. You have to look past their post count, name color and rep status and try to understand if they are serious or just being dickwads. Many times I've questioned if they've even shot a firearm in the last 3-12 months and what they have done to promote shooting sports or helped to train/educate new members and shooters. Some days it's nothing more than a bunch of keyboard warriors puffing their chests trying to impress someone. But. Sometimes there is that little nugget of real and useful information that is posted that makes it worthwhile to filter through the falderol and miscreants.
Best advice is to learn who you can believe, trust for real knowledge or need to be put on your ignore list. (A very useful feature!) Otherwise you're going to eat a lot of Tums and have your blood pressure raised.

1) Transportation to and from the range
2) Access to the LT6 arsenal while at the range
3) Free ammo

Everyone here was a newbie at some point. I've made some good friends here that I'd never have known otherwise. Indiucky, Churchmouse, Dudley, etc. I've met several people here for lunch, talked reloading, even my buy/sell meetings have usually had a conversation attached. All are good people and if we're a clique it's because we clicked...so to speak. We made friends, like people who socialize tend to do once they discover common interests etc.

Folks who complain they can't find a group of friends probably ought to look up Raylon Given's quote on the matter of social interaction. But we all know those people in real life, too. They expect to walk into a strange barbershop and immediately join the banter. They hop churches because they've went to the last one for two weeks and haven't been made a deacon yet. They expect the promotion the guy who's worked there for 5 years longer is next in line for, and then complain about favoritism when he gets it. They are just incredibly special and it hurts that others don't immediately recognize that.
