I was in there this morning - great place with an awesome range. The staff were all very nice and extremely professional. Definitely going back and may even buy the monthly pass.

To continue the thread hijacking, our property taxes have DOUBLED since 2010 when we were forecebly annexed by Carmel. The property value has remained the same.
Per Capita debt in Carmel is about $11,000. The national Per Capita debt is about $56,000. Draw your own conclussions.

forcibly annexed because Carmel got tired of providing welfare to said annexed areas.

    Educate me, how so ?????

Public services.... Specifically ALL the police runs in those areas. They wouldn't call county, they'd call us. And when we told them to call county, they'd ***** and moan about response times. Even for places we haven't annexed, like Homeplace, if I'm in a nearby district, about 1/4 of my runs are there.

Carmel's debt has purchased things that directly affect my life every day. The national debt, not so much. As long as businesses want to locate in Carmel, tax income should cover it. And, most people have debt that amounts to several multiples of their annual income and probably exceeds their net worth. But that's OK, while Carmel's isn't? :n00b:

Unless you work in the Palladium, City Center, or the A&DD, this isn't true. (Well, if you work at Pedcor, then it is true, too.) The debt has not gone to infrastructure maintenance. It has built new roads, but does not pay to maintain them.

Color me confused. Businesses do want to come to Carmel. Always have. Subsidizing with TIF money - which also means less money for the schools and other taxing authorities - doesn't make sense. Perhaps there was a time for it, but spending all the TIF revenue on new stuff, without a plan to pay for maintenance, is unsustainable.

People decide how much debt to take on, and can typically downsize if necessary. A metric ****ton of debt was taken on without the Council approval. And, the things the city spent the money on (a million dollars for Palladium landscaping? The brick facade of the Shapiro building?) are illiquid.

To bring this around to the topic, Point Blank came to Carmel because it is a great place to have a business. They did not need a subsidy (although I believe they are in a TIF district, so they will contribute to all the new shiny stuff).

I predict that will be the most profitable gun range east of the Mississippi. Without help from the CRC.

I stopped by over the weekend. Very nice place with a really nice range. I spoke with a very knowledgeable guy behind the counter who took all the time I wanted to show me multiple guns and talk about pros and cons knowing that I had no intention to buy that day.

All in all, I'm impressed and I'll be back to shoot soon.

I could go point to point and show why you're off base, but the election is over and there's been enough threadjacking. If you're concerned about those things, move before it hits the fan.
