I noticed that the media was quick to point out that the cartoonist were labeled a hate group....i think people who bring guns and start shooting at cartoonist are a hate group...we need to stand up in this country

Don't hesitate to call those ****birds out. MSNBC and NYT both jumped in on it, calling the event an "anti-islamist" group. I guess that's what "pro 1A" is today.

No, not going to allow that re-definition. Anyone trying to say Americans aren't allowed to draw ****ing pictures is a ****-eating hack.

NYT framed this as an " anti Islam event"

NYT can go **** themselves. Hacks.

It's 100% an anti- Islam and event, and something I expect from the guys of Stormfront to put on. It's offensive, distasteful speech (and 100% protected). Pictures of the prophet at offensive to followers of that particular faith, so when non-followers creates such images, they are purposefully being offensive. They may think this is a thumbing their nose at radicals with this act, but in the process, they are offending ALL believers of that faith.

Thumbs down for anyone who participated in this event.

All followers? Wrong. That alone makes your evaluation moot

Not a faith. It's a political system designed to oppress women and anyone who doesn't believe the same way.

I'd have had to write that whole post in purple, K.

Kudos to the security. Hope he heals quickly.

:wow: I actually agree with you. This may call for some serious introspection. :ugh:

All, majority, most, more than 50%. The point is a great many of them believe that such depictions are idolatry. True for both the loons and the sane of that particular group. If one of them depicted one of your holy men in an unflattering way, in an attempt show how much they respected your beliefs, I doubt you'd be all that pleased about it.

    Wow.

Kinda like tearing up a picture of the pope on Saturday Night Live?

Catholics - and even Christians in general - have been putting up with this kind of thing for a long time. People don't seem NEARLY as defensive about that kind of thing though.

"Doubt you'd be all that pleased about it".............. does NOT mean you go out and kill the people doing it.

Major ****ing difference being overlooked here.

There's a BIG difference between not pleased and murdering those with whom you disagree.

    *printcraft beat me to it.

Actually we'd probably give them a government grant.

As important a discussion there is to be had here, I'd rather not see anyone get banned. Let's focus on the free-speech angle and attack that occurred.

Let INGO be tested by fire, so that it might be purified. :D

Back on topic, I continue to wonder how many more lone-wolf type attacks are yet to come.

As offensive as it may be, it did seem to be an effective way to draw them out. Of course it's a dangerous tactic.
