I am not sure if this has been posted here yet, but there is a new gun range getting close to opening in Indy. It is still under construction, but it is to the point that a few of us got to do some shooting this morning.

It is going to be a very nice facility. Two ranges, six lanes each. One is longer than the other. A large class room, retail gun and accessory sales. There are plans for a lot of different types of training from beginner to experienced. All in all it is going to be a top notch facility.

A friend of mine is doing the facility. He has worked long and hard to bring this to fruition, and he has put a lot into making this a safe class act to go shooting at.

I'm not sure when it will open, it is still under construction, but I would say it is still a month, or so away. It is going to be on the north side of Indy just off Keystone Ave at about 5500 North.

It is going to be a full facility with retail gun sales, and a full line of accessories, holsters, cleaning equip., archery, etc. Of course, an FFL too. He is planning on Gunsmith services too. I am not sure if he will have a full time gunsmith, or not there.

Hopefully on the edge of greenwood. That place is a traffic nightmare. ****ers do not know how to drive in greenwood.

Agreed, there are a lot of old people and medicated people driving around the south side of Indy, I always seem to get stuck behind them somehow.

Not to thread jack, congrats on the new range, I may have to come up and shoot once it opens.

I need to learn more! I live near 56th and Emerson, so this sounds like it would be less than 10min away! Lots of empty or underutilized industrial buildings in the 46th to 56th and Keystone corridor. I've also heard that Meijer has purchased a couple of the auto dealerships at 56th and Keystone and looks to put in a store in the future.

223 Gunner. You should try it out. Everything will be will be shiny new, and he has spent a lot of extra money that he didn't need to on soundproofing, bullet stops, etc.
He also has some new ideas on range time pricing. I don't know if I am at liberty to talk about them, as he may want that as part of his opening information. It is going to be different than any range that I have ever shot at, and I think that shooters are going to be real pleasantly surprised.

It was mentioned in another thread - that one of the other local ranges ("north side of town-ish" was going to do it on/near the site where the Cabela's was supposed to have gone in. So outside of town near 65 and Co. Ln. Rd.

And southside traffic does suck. Just not as bad as it does on the north / NE side.

We have quite decent north/south routes, but there are precious few east/west routes that can handle the volume.

I will Scout Sniper. I stop in regularly, and it is really coming along nicely. This week they are installing the glass display cabinets, and are trying to finish the soundproofing in the ranges. I don't really know just how much info. I can release, because I am not sure if he is keeping back surprises for his Grand Opening. I don't want to end up teasing everyone. I will say again though that it is going to be a real nice facility, and since I am a friend of the owner I know that it will be ran fairly, and honestly. That is one thing that I know, and don't hesitate in saying.

Lets just hope he follows reason when creating his range rules and doesnt let his insurance guy write them for him. One reason I have never bothered to go up to Tim's is they seem overbearing and overly cautious in the rules dept. Parabellum is much closer and much more reasonable in that dept.

Always good to hear of more places to shoot. I have some friends that live down that way, so it'll be great to have another nice place we can go shoot together
