Did you not sign up for electronic prints thru MorphoTrust ? If not, it's not too late. You can call them and set an appointment.

Thank you, that's exactly what I did. I setup an appointment for the same day. It was extremely quick and easy. I went today and paid my local fee at city county building, now the waiting game...

I'm doing my fingerprinting downtown on Friday- Does the ISP take cash or just money orders or cashier's checks? I'd rather not go through the hassle of having to get one.

OK. Posting this for the FORT WAYNE CITY folks that want to do this IN PERSON. ( im sure its here somewhere but it cant help to have it posted again.)
    1. Do the online form
    2. get your photo ID ready WITH current address ( i just moved so this is delaying me til i get new id)
    3. 4 stamps
    4. $75 Money Order to State of Indiana
    5. $50 cash.. no 100's
    6. go to the City County building between 6:30 am and 9:30pm Mon thru Friday

This was relayed to me by the kind lady at the FWPD Desk Sgt Line.
I wonder about the 9:30 time but it could be right.

For me, working a 9-5 its easier for me to go in person.

    Question

I have a 4yr LTCH, (I know, shoulda did the Lifetime) that isn't going to expire for another year and a half. I am moving soon to a new residence and will have to change my address on my LTCH. Can I just go ahead and apply for a lifetime when doing the address change or, will I have to do the address change and then reapply later for the Lifetime LTCH? Thanx for helping! :)

I'd do the address change then re-apply when you are 364 days from expiry.

i guess i will post the question in this thread, i applied and had everything done electronically on 3/5/14 i know it sat it my local police for about a week before they sent it downstate, well as of 3/20 i still had not hear anything so i had a cop buddy of mine run me to check the status, well when he pulled up my info it shows that my app is there but the status says "Unresolved" anybody have any idea what this means pertaining to the process and would it help if i called them and asked about it? I did have a license about 18 years ago but went to renew it in the middle of a nasty divorce back then and it was denied, i just let it go since i was dealing with all the other stuff. i have posted more about this in LTCH wait time thread but was refered over to this thread for more info but i see nothing about "Unresolved" think i could accomplish anything by call them on Monday? i have never been arrested or convicted of anything as far as i know i have a clean record. any advice or has anybody seen this before any info appreciated.

I don't think you have cause for a great deal of concern yet. Your app has only been at ISP records since 3-14 and today is the 23rd. I know they have been turning them around quickly these days, but expecting it the same week they received it is maybe a smidge ambitious.

You can certainly try calling, but even if you do get a live person, the standard response is that they can't give you any information over the phone because of "privacy issues".

Not sure why you were denied 18 years ago, or whether or not that will play into your current app process. Someone determined then that you were either not a proper person, or, more than likely, you made a mistake on your app.

Hang in there. And, if it's any consolation, there are INGO members that I know personally that waited over a year.

FWIW, I made electronic application for lifetime mid Dec 2013; got printed the latter part of Dec. I received my permit the first week of February. I was surprised; they told me to expect 6 months. :yesway:

Just a general suggestion for anyone making the new application... Be absolutely sure of your previous arrests, and records, especially the OLD ones. I just finished an appeal process because the applicant had forgotten (it was back in "wilder times" and he really had NO recollection of the incident...) to inform them of an assault charge from 1972!!! (probably a bar fight, who knows... I cant even find the records...)

When they mean everything the ISP means everything!!! It wasn't that the charge was the issue...

It is that under IC 35-47-1-7 a "proper person" is one who: (7) does not make a false statement of material fact on the person's application...
They made the denial BECAUSE it is a sworn oath submission and therefore construed as misinformation...

So bottom line... If you had a period of "wilder times" as in "I was so wasted I dont even remember the incident" it might be a good idea to have a background check run on yourself... Also note that the ISP uses the FBI database, and of course like any good governmental agency, they save everything.... forever !!!

    Be safe,

as an update, i just got off the phone with the ISP and spoke with a very friendly girl, i explained my situation to her and that i had a cop buddy look me up and how it was showing unresolved and she told me that she would look me up but if the permit has not been issued i would have to go through another background check and that there would not be a time frame that they have to make a decisions, she looked me up and to my surprise and told me my license was issued on the 26th and was put in the mail on the 27th so i will be getting it today or tomorrow my delay was due to a public intox when i was 18, actually the day i turned 18 back then they did put me in a cell but it was till dad could pick me up but it was supposed to be just a ticket but according to her it was an arrest- whatever- she told me i am good to go i should be getting my license any day now. so i am good to go hopefully this afternoon when the mail comes, wow i am 49 years old and i feel like a kid on Christmas eve the only thing is i know what my present is hehe. not to bad considering that my app sat at the local level for a week and did not get sent down state until the 14th of this month

Given the number of applications they have to process, overall I think the ISP is doing a good job in getting these through the process... As always they are trying to protect the "Public interests" with the individuals rights. (not that I necessarily agree, but thinking of it from their Point of view, they dont want to be issuing LTCH's to Improper persons... that is not good for any of us either. )
I have heard anywhere from two weeks to two months and if there is a denial and a properly requested appeal, then they get the appeal hearing schedule pretty straight away within three or so weeks.

I just applied for my 4 year two days ago (in case I get denied, I won't lose much money) and I go this Friday to be fingerprinted and pay the local and state fees. I also just got off the phone with ISP and asked which date I should have put down (offense date, arrest date or court date). The lady told me I should have listed the arrest date, but I listed the offense date which is a few months prior to my arrest date. My local state police said I should list my offense date, so I did. Does anyone know if this will delay my permit or cause me to be denied? The lady at ISP said it shouldn't since the dates are so close, but also said it's up to the reviewer. I'm guessing if I get denied I could just appeal it, but that's just going to delay it even further. It's a simple battery charge from when I head butted my little brother and knocked him out because he stole my Jeep and got in my face when he got back (cause I was calling him, threatening to call the cops). I called an ambulance because my brother has health problems and told the cop it was my fault when he arrived. No one pressed charges, but the state picked it up and got me for domestic battery. I talked the state's attorney down to simple battery. I hope all goes well. But I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to appeal.

What they are looking for is mistruths or omissions, thereby making you an improper person. If the offense is noted, the actual difference between an arrest date and offense date is easily clarified either on the application, or through the appeal process. As long as you have the offense noted...
(Im surprised however, that you would not take advantage of the lifetime for the difference of only 20 bucks... Keep in mind you have to renew it and having an expired LTCH is as bad as never having one in the future...)

The reason I was worried about whether I listed the right thing or not is because the offense happened in one county and the arrest took place in the next county over, which might cause confusion and delay my permit even longer. And the lifetime is $125 + $9.95 for the L1 fingerprinting and the 4 year is $40 + $9.95. I figure I could just get the 4 year (in case I get denied, they keep a portion of the fee), and if I get approved I'll just pay the $100 extra to upgrade. But if I get denied the lifetime, they keep $50 I think. And if I get denied the 4 year, they only keep $10. Plus, it fits my budget at the moment and I have 4 years to upgrade and have the lifetime for just a little under $15 more than if I was just to go ahead and get the lifetime to begin with. Judging by how long people have waited for their permits in the past, I'll upgrade anywhere between 1-2 years early to be safe.
