    I hope not. If you're going to do something that you know is going to get a police response then be ready to positively back your rights and the law up and don't stand their and ask the officer if you're allowed to do it. If the guy DIDN'T know he was going to be questioned by the police, then he needs to catch up on current events until he walks around with a rifle in plain view. Charges may not hold on this or that, but there's nothing holding the cop back from taking you to jail. If you didn't account for that to happen then you didn't think far enough into what you were getting yourself into.

    So after all that the cops give him the rifle back and tell him to try and conceal it under his coat? Sure. Nothing calms down panicky people like a guy with an SKS clearly visible under a jacket. Problem solved officer.

    Guy says hes going to do it everyday when the cop isnt in his face, cop comes back and he hides it under his coat and says i guess we'll just go home....

    If you are going to do it at least have the balls to stand up for your rights.

    Sorry officer. You are wasting resources because you are failing to tell people that it is not illegal.

    I only need to identify myself if I am being charged with a violation.

    What is my justification officer?

    "A citizen may not be required to offer a 'good and substantial reason' why he should be permitted to exercise his rights. The rights existence is all the reason he needs." Benson Everett Legg - Woolard v. Sheridan

    What am I being charged with?

    The officer claims that the town just had a shooting because of another person using their right.

    Sorry officer. That man did not have the right to commit murder.

    And lumping people together for carrying a gun? You're carrying a gun officer. Are you a murderer?

    Disorderly conduct???? So, if people call you because a Jewish person is walking down the street, and that scares them, is the Jewish person then guilty of disorderly conduct? NO.

    That doesn't come remotely close to fitting the "Disorderly Conduct" definition. It takes a pretty specific set of circumstances to get Disorderly Conduct to stick. Let me just post the definition here for your perusal...
    Indiana Code said:
    (a) A person who recklessly, knowingly, or intentionally:
    (1) engages in fighting or in tumultuous conduct;
    (2) makes unreasonable noise and continues to do so after being asked to stop; or
    (3) disrupts a lawful assembly of persons;
    commits disorderly conduct, a Class B misdemeanor.

    Disorderly Conduct is ABSOLUTELY NOT a catch-all charge used to arrest someone when you don't have any other charges. You have to exactly fit the above definition (and a few others that are yet even more strict) to charge Disorderly Conduct.

    IMO this **** is going to turn our LCTH into a CCW. Carry how you see fit.

    An officer receives a call, he goes out and asks for ID. The ID check verifies a felon or non-felon, and you can be on your way. While I understand our rights, I also understand that the officer is trying to fulfill the duty of his call. It's illegal to carry a handgun without a LTCH. It's illegal to possess a firearm being a felon. Simply checking on the legality of me to have a firearm on my person (doing his job per se) is the question at hand. Do you comply and give name and DOB, or do you show a LTCH to get the whole process stopped when the license check comes back?

    What would carrying a rifle have to do with a handgun license?

    Are you talking to me, or the officer? It was the officer in the video, near the end, that warned him if he did this again he would be charged with disorderly conduct.

    Both of you I suppose. I was just pointing out that Disorderly Conduct was not a charge that would be appropriate in this situation.

    What legal authority or RAS does he have to stop someone that is carrying a rifle?
