Because we have shooter, that's why.First thing I thought on seeing the pics was, "Sten Gun".
Why is the IMPD relying on INGO for firearms identification?
Where else would anyone go to find gun answers?
Diane Feinstein's personal collection...I mean library. I hear she has loads of info...
She also reminds me of Deloris Umbridge.
It's a legitimate question. Why can't the IMPD ID firearms without the assistance of a web forum?
They can. The officer wouldn't know for a long time, if ever, what the make and model was if he didnt ask here. The crime lab folks wouldnt likely report back to him other than to confirm that it was a machinegun or not. It's a legitimate question. If my pants cargo pockets were any bigger you would have never heard about it! 10-8, GOA! (We're done, suspects Gone On Arival) ;-)
All of the CZ vz.82s which I've seen (including the one I own) are stamped "SHE" indicating that they were made in Uhersky Brod, Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic). It precedes the year of manufacture. I don't think it has anything to do with Považská Bystrica (now Slovakia).

Similarly, the Jalopnik "To Catch A Car" tag. I've gotten "hat tip Dan" there for the first to correctly Identify Year/Make/Model leading to arrest.
And to feed the troll, nobody "signs up" for the worst case scenario. Yes, we understand the risk is there, but no professional signs on with a goal to meet the worst case scenario.
