I figured i wouldnt be able to do much. its my word against a cops. Hell, apparently Indiana cops can drive drunk, kill a motorcyclist, and walk the streets a free man nowadays! what was I thinking?
    wrong place, wrong time...

you have a beef with a man who sold you something you aren't happy with.

Your story was tl;dr but I am going to agree with others, caveat emptor

    To sum it up

OP bought a gun with large quantity of reloaded ammo
Sold gun for profit, bought new gun, kept the reloads.
OP tried to shoot reloads, they were bad.
Seller is M.I.A and OP believes he sold them with intent.

There is nothing you can do, even if he is a cop, his department will not care.
All you can do is guilt him into giving you some money back, and you give the ammo back. If he did the deal with intent, then obviously he wont trade back. If he made a mistake when he was reloading, then he SHOULD re-do the deal. If this was an INGO member, all you could do was give him negative i-traded rep. Since this is on armslist, you can't even do that lol.

And yea, as mentioned above, you just admitted to buying a gun and immediately turning around to sell it for profit.

It also just gave me false security buying from a cop/range master. I still may report it to his office when I find out where he works. Who knows, someone else there might have a problem with him too. Maybe get a few heads to turn. Its a shot in the dark though, and probably a faulty one...

Buying guns or ammo from private parties carries the risk of not getting what is advertised. It's the price we pay for doing ftf transactions. Unfortunately, unless he replies back, there isn't much you can do. Plus, buying reloads is a bad idea in general. You rolled the dice, and lost. Sorry.

I still want to know why you believe he was a real cop. Just his word? Did you see a badge? Was he driving a marked vehicle? Nothing here convinces me you were dealing with a real cop. Especially when selling reloads is a crime.

I sold the gun I had bought to a friend, obviously not for as much as I paid in the package deal, but enough to afford the gun I was really after. Im not into that price gouging business, I only sell for what things are worth. NO he did not show me a badge or anything that held truth to whether he was a cop or not. Yes i asked to whether they were reloads and accepted that fact understanding they had only been reloaded once. Im not a competition shooter, I just need something thatll put a hold in plywood in my back yard when I go out to shoot. I was interested in the quantity of ammo he was selling because I was planning on taking a training course next month that required a lot of ammunition. Its just too expensive to go buy 500 rounds of new ammunition, let alone find a place that will let you do it. Everywhere I go has this 2 box rule or some sh** and thats if they have any in stock. What intrigues me is the FFL license required to sell reloaded ammunition. If he had in fact done so without a license where do I go from there? Smug comments will be ignored. If no help can be given without heckling or trolling ill simply take my case to another forum. Sure, Im new, but cmon.

You're going to report him for doing something that you think may require an FFL, when you did something that undoubtedly requires an FFL? You bought a gun you had no intention of keeping just to sell for a profit... That requires an FFL. It's also worth noting that most training facilities don't allow reloads...

But if you think you have a case, contact a lawyer who specializes in gun laws. We have a few on the board. Look up Kirk Freeman and Guy Relford.

Report him for what? Selling you something and telling you EXACTLY what it was?:n00b:

You don't need an FFL to sell reloads, you can probably find reloads in the INGO classifieds. You buying their reloads, and using them, opens them up to a liability. If you were injured, or your weapon was damaged, you can sue them. That's why you should only deal with friends and family.

EDIT: People are claiming it is against the law, what is the code for my education?

You may be "new," but if you start the trolling first, don't expect it not to be met, in kind.
