I hate to post on a dead thread on a hot topic. Here goes.
First off, Brookville is the "hub" of Franklin County. Brookville is the county seat and has the main businesses of the county. Highway 52, 1, 101, and 252 all intersect at town and the Brookville Reservoir is nearby. Now, I'm pretty sure Brookville is just a township, not a city or anything.
The town has a lot of traffic on a daily basis, which is more on weekends (reservoir traffic, weather permitting). What kills me is noone wants to interpret the "new" gun carry rules for Brookville. The general public honestly think that you cannot carry in any public place in town. I know of employees running people out of places of business over this regulation. It is ridiculous. Those who I know, that have guns, live outside of city limits (myself included).
Lack of support is why it will probably never be changed. But in theory, wouldn't the ordinance immediately go out of effect if Brookville ever grows out of "township" status?
