If governments and pharmaceutical companies proved to be a bit more trustworthy perhaps this wouldn't be happening. But when you turn on the TV and every drug they advertise has about a thousand different potential side effects, many of them severe or even deadly, and governments prove over and over to NOT have peoples' best interests at stake, what do you expect? When mercury is widely known to be one of the most fatal substances known to man, and people learn that vaccinations include mercury derivatives, and nobody trusts anybody anymore, how can you expect any different? You can't just blame Jenny McCarthy et al and call it a day.

If people took responsibility for their own health instead of relying on governments and pharma companies to provide the answers, perhaps this wouldn't be happening.

Many of these listed side effects are so rare as to be negligible. Some don't even relate to the drug, they just happened to occur to the person during trials and may not even be related to the drug. That list is just a cover your ass thing for the FDA.

That said, people are scrambling for measles shots in Wales right now. They know they're in the midst of an epidemic caused by too many people refusing to vaccinate for the wrong reasons.

What in the world is this supposed to mean? People decided to listen to conspiracy theorists and porn stars concerning medical decisions. Vaccines are the discussion.

    Are you an anti-vaxer?

Be nice if we could trust the .gov to, you know, DO ITS JOB instead of being all incestuous with the crony capitalists, and if the corps could perhaps have some principles rather than being able to count on gaming the system for profit and a bailout if there's a loss. You don't have a problem doing this to J Random Loser's kid? How about your own kid? Why is there a difference? The whole thing is based on a structure of trust, which was well earned, but that trust is being spent, and soon will be worth nothing.

Most side-effects are just put in to cover their rears. Easier to do that than fight the legal battle in case someone somehow has a bizarre bad reaction.

Regardless, the measles vaccine has been in use for decades and is proven to work. This isn't some new or experimental drug. It's usage, results, and effects are well known and established.

Measles epidemic? So what..... I had measles as a very young child. I could do it standing on my head, and so could anybody. When I was young and one kid was found to have measles, all of our parents sent us to play with them. The intention was to get it over with and move on. There was a list of diseases that EVERYBODY got. Measles was one of them.

Today if somebody gets measles all hell breaks loose, the C.D.C. crys like frightened schoolgirls and it makes the news. The younger generation (sounding just like my father) is a bunch of wussies!

Within the confines of this discussion, what exactly is that?

The verdict is in, the sky is officially falling. And it is because of a 1998 study.

Just wanted to get it on record. One case/study isn't enough, but one amateur video of one house being search, the details of which were unknown, is undeniable proof positive that every search conducted in Boston was in violation of the 4th amendment.

I believe that's what they call a double standard.

I believe that's called a strawman argument. Nobody said every single house search in Watertown was a violation. There were 9,000 agents in the town, each doing their own thing. Some were respectful and some pointed guns in people's faces. Why don't you raise that thread again and we'll keep rehashing it.
