    I shoot lots of steel with 147 grain 9mm, (also IDPA) It really pops the poppers and shoots pretty soft compared to the 115 grain white box stuff. I mostly use Precision Delta copper jacketed 147 grain with 5.0 grains Accurate Arms No. 5. The free Accurate Arms pdf pamphlet has this load listed for Hornady XTP bullets between 4.8 grains minimum and 5.3 grains maximum. I have been using it for several years now with different copper washed and plated 147 grain bullets.

    Here is the Accurate Arms load-data pdf page

    I settled on 4.7gr of IMR 800x. Very soft, but enough to cycle the weapon. That is my absolutely most favorite load. I doubt 800x will meter very well, so take that into consideration. I also do 5.6gr of Power Pistol on my carry load. It shoots well, and is comparable in recoil to a factory +P load. Both of those loads are WSP primed, using once fired brass, paired with a 147gr Speer Gold Dot.

    Here is a bunch of 147gr load data I've found across the net. As always be safe, be careful and double check these before you just trust them and go with them. Perhaps they can be starting points though. I realize it's a bit messy...each " * " is another load or a new posting. I have a couple of links in there to the threads in which I found them. As soon as I get the pan for my scale I'll be trying a few as I have some moly coated 147s and will be buying some Berry's 147s or Precision Delta 147s. Hope this helps.

    I've decided to switch to 147gr practice loads as I want to switch my carry rounds to the 147gr HST or 147gr Ranger RA9T loads. Seems like a good idea to load similar weight bullets to similar velocities to keep the feeling the same. I don't game so I don't need *****cat loads. I'll be looking to load into the ~1000fps range I think.

    * 3.2 of Clay's universal gets 132 and change out of a G-17.....very accurate.

    * BBI 147gr
    3.4gr Solo 1000
    OAL: 1.15"
    854fps
    125.5 pf
    4.25" p226

    * 3.6 Solo1000 147 Precision Moly @ 1.11 gives me 136 PF out of a 5" M&P. Still smokes a little but it is soft and accurate for me.

    * 147gr Precision (BBI) (5" 1911)

    3.0 Universal

    PF: 142.6

    * 3.5 gn of Solo 1000 at 130-132 PF, same gun (M&P PRO). Black-Bullet-International 147gr Moly

    * Lyman data for lead 147gr:

    Power Pistol - START 4.1gr, 939 FPS - MAX 4.6gr, 1033 FPS
    Universal - START 3.0gr, 875 FPS - MAX 3.4gr, 969 FPS

    * running 5gr of PP under Berry's 147gr for my 92FS. Yeah, it's a max load, but I haven't seen any real pressure signs with it.

    * 34, stock barrel - cleans up easily, no leading

    .357 (yup) 150 (that weigh 148, MB may be cheap but they can run light)
    2.8 Bullseye
    1.155
    PF= 129 - 131

    * Try 3.2gr Tg under 145-147gr Poly Coated Lead (MB) I get about 920fps out of a Std G17. Start at around 3.0gr. Load to 1.130 max if flat nosed and 1.16max if Round Nose.

    * My load is 3.1 grains Tite Group,147 Precision, 1.140 OAL, Winchester primers and crimp of 0.002. I use this in my G34 with a power factor of 131. This load is very soft feeling and very accurate. They do smoke a bit but I don't notice it.

    *

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    147gr Berrys Bullets (and some precision delta jacketed)

    * Berrys 147 gr and 3.0 gr of Clays Universal. Runs great (I can't get that to work in anything that has a little bolt weight to it. I load 4gr of U.clays in order to get reliable ejection. To be fair the loading manual says 3.3 is the max, but I load European 9mm ammo.)

    * Precision Delta sells jacketed... load like any other, set crimp to .377/.379 and carry on. I load my 147 FMJ from them to 1.150".

    * Berrys 147gr and 3.6gr UC.

    * Cartridge - 9mm
    Case - Mixed
    Powder - Universal 4.0 gr
    Primer - Win
    Bullet - Hornady XTP 147gr
    OAL - 1.105
    FPS - 1006
    Usage - SD
    Used in - XD-9 Service, 4" barrel

    I'm looking to upping the ante on my USPSA competition loads. I am interested in going with 147 gr. 9mm. I am having a hard time finding any powder load data.

    Does anyone have any powder data for 147 gr?

    If you check out Hodgdon's site they have all their load data on it. You can filter by bullet weight too

    Think Max said 3.0gr of Clay's is his prefered Production load.

    What bullets you using? I'm going with 147 BBI's and will be working up a load here before too long.

    I've gone through nearly 100k of:
    147gr Zero Jhp.
    3.4gr Titegroup
    1.150-0.005" oal
    Fed #100s
    mixed brass

    Gets ~134 pf out of my beretta at 910-915 fps

    3.3gr will get you around 131pf.

    Titegroup meters VERY consistently out of a dillon, and the zeros are very consistent. I get single-digit SD over the chrono w/ the above combination. (Once at a match, I even had ZERO SD!)

    Zeros are tough to get. I buy in bulk and keep a couple year supply on hand. Next choice is Montana Golds. Just as good, I just have less experience w/ them.

    Exactly the information I am looking for. I appreciate everyone's input. I am going to research the data. I am definitely looking to get a PF of 130 - 135. I have several pounds of titegroup and will probably be working up a load with that. I will probably be going with BBI bullet.

    I shoot 3.3 grains of Solo 1000 behind a 147gr LFP loaded to 1.125 OAL and get 133pf out of my Glock 34. It's an accurate, soft-shooting load. Your results may vary, since Solo 1000 is known for having some huge lot-to-lot burn rate differences.

    Thanks Matt. Hope to see you out again soon.

    No problem. Let me know if you want to borrow my chrono (CED M2) and tripod to work up a load. It's been sitting in the closet all winter.

    I'll be back next season. I disappeared from the scene last year mainly because my wife was unemployed, and we didn't have the extra $$ for shooting. This year will be different.

    I may take you up on that offer. Unemployment has been an awful bug around the country and especially in the state. I'll Pm you when I'm ready. Riverman67 has one, but he has had trouble getting it to work.

    It is brand new and has never worked
    If it doesn't work the next time I try it,I'm going to shoot it and put it out of it's misery:)

    had to bring this one back up as I'm gonna try this for my first batch of 9mm.
