    That breaks down to one dollar a gallon.I understand the US price is so they can give it away else where...but I am not paying a dollar a gallon even for emergency use.I have a Katadyn Vario back country water filter...75 dollars 500 gallons before the carbon is dead(taste and odor removal),and the ceramic(actually makes it safe to drink the water) disk is cleanable and reusable. 15 cents a gallon(if you must have the carbon filter)and replacement carbons are 20 dollars or so. Much more cost efective and no wait to use the water :)
