The ground was already saturated thanks to the snow melt. With all this rain I now have a huge lake in my backyard. This is as much water as I saw last summer during some big storms. Anyone else about to float away?

I tossed a pump out there with a hose to help it drain over some poor drainage we have. Basement still dry though!

We've been fighting water control issues for the last four years and frankly, I'm sick of it. It would be a lie to say I wasn't somewhat pleased with the drought. I literally get sick to my stomach when it rains harder than a sprinkle.

Looks like west of Indy will get it the worst according to the radar. They're saying locally 3" inches.

88GT, I hear you on the water. We had a year-long leak in our dream home we built a few years ago. I'd be so pissed as water poured through my ceiling and no one could figure it out.

I better get down to the cellar/basement and make sure the sump pump is working. I really need to build some dirt up around the house to drain it away better.

We need a lot of water. Over Christmas, I had the opportunity to drive over Morse Reservoir north of Cicero. I was reminded of how low our bodies of water remain. I had kayaked in that area years ago and put in under that bridge when there was still water there. Granted, it was never all that deep, but still standing water. It seems like it always looks more like a creek that a lake in that area.

Hope all in the lowlands stay dry...

I was out the other day going to take a run through some dirt(currently muddy) roads that you have to go through a creek to get too...however when I got to the creek, I decided to not get washed away by this usually calm and still creek that is now a rapid.

    I was sad that day...

I have a creek in my back yard that normally has a few inches of water. It is up to at least 5 feet today. The bank is about 6' high.

These pics aren't from today, but it looks the same or a little less water. Last night the water was about an inch over the driveway.

I also have pumps in the yard to help aid the waters movement to the drains, but that still takes a day or 2 if it doesn't rain :(
