    Sure, it would be tempting for a second to not say anything, but anybody with a brain would tell the government immediately.
    Club Fed would be no fun.

    Reminds me of a rumor I heard happened about +-50 years ago or so in my hometown when I was a kid which may not even be true.

    I have no first hand knowledge, but the story was somebody bought a surplus jeep, and when they got it home they found some kind of machine gun under the seat.
    They smartly immediately turned it in.

    So this type of stuff does happen.

    I'm a buzz kill. That's what I do.

    They would have tracked them down eventually.

    1) When you get something like that you didn't expect, you have obviously committed no crime.

    2) At the point you decide to keep them and choose to exercise possessory control over them, you have committed a crime (several).

    Personally, I don't want to find out at what point between #1 and #2 I have to start explaining myself to the U.S. Atty.
