In the quoted case regarding Brian Aitken in New Jersey he did have all the documentation and the judge refused to admit the evidence. He is still in jail BTW.

Because we really don't have anything better to do.

My point isn't that cops are ebil and out to get people, my point was that our society has created so many laws it is impossible to realistically follow them all 100% of the time, so if someone really wants to - they could eventually bust you for something.

Thanks for your service, and I infer from your offense to that comment took the wrong way that you are not someone out to get anybody.

we should get the feds to start a fedral handgun permit that all states will have to honor.that would put a end to this kind of uncalled for treatment of law-bidding people

Better solution: Get all states to just honor our right to keep and bear arms. :patriot:

Do away with permits completely - they are absolutely unnecessary and accomplish nothing.

OP, the local police would've been a good place for this guy to start his questions with, but he should independently verify what they tell him by finding the actual law they're quoting.
The particular officer may know this, so it wouldn't hurt to ask in order to reduce the amount of searching for the actual law.

    JUST IN CASE,
if I had a question about possessing a gun, I wouldn't make the call from a phone that would identify me, nor would I identify myself.
