Cowboy Action shooting. They are period correct and shuck nice. A good load of BP is impressive and they can be reloaded until stepped on.
Are they actually pushing 12ga slugs at rifle speeds? Some use them for high power 12ga rifles. Custom made rifles, niche sport. There was a post on here awhile back.
Yes, iirc over 2000 fps. Maybe well over. Are they actually pushing 12ga slugs at rifle speeds?
Ow my aching shoulder...
I think I'll leave that to someone crazier than myself.Yes, iirc over 2000 fps. Maybe well over.
Ditto, with maybe a few asterisks added. But yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking of.Ah.....no
Commonly called the “From Hell” series. 12ga most common. They use heavy machined hulls, such as from Rocky Mountain. The Magtech are thin, ballon-head style and won’t take nearly as much pressure. Forming 24ga ones into 577/450 M-H, an old low pressure cartridge that is still higher than 12ga shotgun, is about their limit. Some use them for high power 12ga rifles.
