Looking at current Indiana Gun Club inventory, they have a PM-38 in stock, but not the PM-9 or any other of the PM series. Is there any other retailer I should look at to see one in stock? I'll still probably go by IGC, perhaps next week, to look at multiple examples and drool at the expensive shotguns.

Mine is in my profile image. It's a S&W 1911 E Series Bobtail. Finest shooting gun i have ever shot. Bar none. it's been my daily carry for a long time, but i just picked up a SW MP 9c 2.0 that is now what I am carrying, bit smaller, lighter. More rounds.

I should have followed up earlier in the week.... I made it out to Indiana Gun Club last weekend and they had a Dan Wesson Silverback in stock. I hadn't even researched this model since it is now discontinued. Both my buddy and I went "OOHHH! what is that" when we saw it in the case. It had everything I was looking for and then some. Although I thought I wanted a front fiber sight, this has adjustable tritium sights. It took me 3-4 seconds to change my mind on what I wanted!
After feeling the slide action, the trigger pull, and admiring the fit and finish, I lost all my self control... and as I said up front.. They HAD one in stock, but not when I left! It was a long 50 minute drive back to my buddies house with his indoor shooting lane. Between Sat and Sun, I put close to 200 rounds of various types downrange with no issues whatsoever.

Unless the weather drastically warms up, dirty pictures will have to wait until my middle son comes home on Spring Break. Call me names if you must, but shooting in the cold just isn't enjoyable anymore.

I was also considering a 1911 in 9mm and thought about a Springfield Range Officer as I own the 45 version and it is quite a shooter. I'll have to look into the Dan Wesson too after reading the responses here. I definitely want something that is accurate.

Although I normally don't post photos, because you've all asked so nicely, and I do understand ttiuwp.gif I thought I'd have some fun and do something different than the typical centerfold posting. Hope you like it.

    Congrats on the Silverback...great choice.

In case the first 200 rounds didn't show you what to expect, here's some results from a DW Silverback in 45 acp to wet your appetite.

Both targets were shot with my old eyes and my wrists rested on a bag. Left target - 10 shots @ 25 yards, right target - 20 shots @ 50'.

    FYI,

I picked up a Springfield Range officer with the target sights last week and really haven't had a chance to group it yet but shooting at steel it was easy to make steel hits and recoil is about like a 22 pistol. Very easy to shoot.

Fit and finish were generally good the trigger pull was very crisp and according to my scale breaks right at 6lbs (going to get that fixed). I have to say for an off the shelf 1911 I'm very happy. I will group it and see where it falls.

When I grabbed my Kimber and compared the slide feel and trigger fell the did not compare, the Kimber was several steps above the Springfield but the Kimber cost 1/2 agian as much. I think when the work gets done to the springfield it will be a very productive target gun.

    I'm happy with my purchase

Does anybody here know him that could get my phone number to him? I'm interested in the Styer pistol he has for sale.
